CCO Technology is seeking a performance engineer to join our Production Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with engineers and developers on large applications to deliver on the best digital experience to the customers. Driving visibility and delivering value through visual presentations and ideas that enable the engineers to respond quickly to innovative market demands and negatively trending events.

The Production Platform team partners with multiple levels of the business and vendors to enhance and improve the cloud experience. The performance engineer will contribute to the missions of the company by delivery solutions across multiple teams within the business. We are an integral part of ensuring that Clear Channel Outdoor meets its goal of becoming the most technologically advanced OOH company in the world.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Guide and develop the future of our digital platform performance monitoring

  • Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle: ideation, feature planning, architecture excellence, design, and issue resolution

  • Encourage and model modern, Lean software engineering practices and seek to continuously enhance ways of working as a member of a cross-functional team

  • Work with a small strategically focused team to both modernize our existing monitoring solutions as well as augment with new technologies

  • Provide technical guidance to technology teams and leadership, ensuring our strategy and technical execution meet the needs of the business

  • Partner with the cyber security team to continue to enhance our security posture through monitoring and alerting

  • Contribute to the development of user stories that clarify what needs to be built, for whom, and why

  • Be accountable for the development and timely delivery of product features and capabilities that address priorities and business needs

  • Ensure production solutions are sustainable, scalable, and architecturally sound

About You

  • You design, build, and implement strategic performance monitoring and reporting systems (Ex. Solarwinds, Grafana, SCOM, Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail, Kibana, etc.)

  • You build synthetic monitoring solutions using statistical analysis

  • You analyze incidents to identify cases where a proactive detection of patterns, with a synthetic view, could have prevented an outage, or at least mitigated impact

  • You understand the purpose as well as the composition of an IT service, and identify the critical components or dependencies in detail and provide visual representations that are easily consumable for engineers, developers, and business users

  • You implement a real-time aggregation and correlation of the relevant events

  • You can implement a near-real-time dashboard with a timely and accurate depiction of the end-to-end health-status of the IT service to be on-boarded

  • You possess an aptitude and have experience in AI and ML, and can demonstrate use cases

  • You can describe and document specific patterns of interest to detect operational issues as well as anomalies caused by potentially malicious activity

  • You can document procedures for how to react on such specific scenarios and how to distinguish relevant from false positive events

  • Describe the support organization of the IT service to be on-boarded and formalize the escalation paths as well as the mutual expectations with the IT service owner

  • You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams

  • You possess extensive experience in both Linux and Windows operating systems

Job Qualifications

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferably engineering, computer science) or comparable work experience

Work Experience

  • 6+ years full-time employment in technology-related roles (i.e., technology consulting, corporate IT, tech startup) with increasing levels of responsibility

  • 5+ years as a performance engineer

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in aggregating data from various systems

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in developing dashboards with Grafana, SCOM and Kibana

  • Project Management capabilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills including delivering effective presentations

  • Self-starter with a diligent work ethic and demonstrated flexibility
