The threat intelligence teams at Facebook are dedicated to protecting the users of our family of applications (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus) by leading intelligence development and integration, conducting deep dive analysis to identify adversarial threats and behaviors, delivering cross-problem awareness, and driving mitigation capabilities in the policy and product spaces. We are seeking an experienced analyst/investigator with deep experience in applying the intelligence cycle, working across a large set of stakeholders to implement change, anticipating how the threat landscape will evolve, and recommending innovative mitigations against the range of 21st century threats. The role includes a broad swathe of adversarial behaviors, to include dangerous organizations and individuals, at-risk countries and emerging harms, influence operations, non-state violent organizations, and other cyber-supported abuses. You will have the opportunity to work on the most challenging, complicated, and high-visibility security risks the company is facing. The impact of your work will be substantial, as outcomes could affect the billions of people who use our products. Threat Intelligence Analyst Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the intelligence cycle across a range of internal Facebook Integrity stakeholders on emerging and complex threats Illuminate threats within an ecosystem and/or across threat problems, contextualizing emerging trends with relevant geopolitical, cultural or societally-specific nuances
  • Inform effective strategies to prevent or disrupt abuse at scale, and consult on mitigations accordingly
  • Proactively hunt for currently undetected abuse by leveraging internal data, open-source intelligence and third party private intelligence
  • Assist investigations in complex cases to understand attribution and identify the most effective enforcement strategies against adversarial threats
  • Coordinate and lead intelligence initiatives spanning multiple teams over an extended period of time Inform the company’s understanding of emerging threats through the production of strategic and tactical intelligence, and implement it with the appropriate partners
  • Participate in the shaping of new enforcement policies to mitigate emergent threats
  • Address sensitive content issues, including but not limited to graphic images, videos and writings, offensive or derogatory language, and other objectionable material
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working in intelligence (either government or private sector), international geopolitical, cybersecurity, or human rights functions
  • Experience conceptualizing, drafting, and presenting tactical and strategic finished intelligence on geopolitical, cyber and/or violent actor behaviors and activities
  • Experience with data analysis tools and techniques, and successful application of data to inform decision making
  • Experience analyzing and mitigating high-impact threats and online threat actors
  • Experience thinking critically and qualifying assessments with solid communications skills
  • Proven track record of managing and executing on short-term and long-term projects
  • Experience prioritizing tasks, projects, and analytical or investigative needs, and with minimal direction or oversight
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working or managing projects that have enterprise-wide impact and/or multi-organization cross functional stakeholders
  • Experience working with a team spanning multiple locations/time zones
  • Experience thinking like the adversary, and to anticipate threat actors’ moves
  • Regional knowledge and/or language skills, especially East or Southeast Asia
  • Experience with open-source investigation techniques and familiarity with a variety of internet research tools
  • Experience with private-sector and other published threat intelligence reporting and its usage towards effective decision-making
  • BS/MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Intelligence Studies, Cybersecurity or related field
