Software Engineer – React and React Native

JOB DESCRIPTION

PeopleManagement, a TrueBlue company, is looking for a talented and experienced Software Engineer to help us build our next generation React and React Native based web/mobile applications for our Centerline business. This position is for a highly motivated hands-on Developer. This position can be located anywhere in the United States and will be 100% remote.

The candidate must have proven experience as a member of a development team that implemented a rich web and mobile interface using React and React Native in a highly scalable, multi-tiered, web and service-based application. The candidate must be a quick learner to pick up our current application frameworks and have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Web UI technologies including React.js and its core principles, React Native, JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
  • Deep knowledge of CSS and SASS.
  • Experience building mobile applications using React Native.
  • Knowledge of RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • Knowledge of AWS Service, NodeJS, Design Patterns, SQL, and NoSQL.
  • Ability to work with US/Indian development team as needed. May require nightly communication with US/India team via instant messaging and weekly conference calls.
  • Follow methodologies and standards during application development including coding, testing, deploying, integrating, and maintaining web applications.
  • Must maintain a high quality for individual design, coding, and testing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the team.
  • Coordinates with Project Managers on all activities and deliverables to meet implementation time frames.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
  • Ability to analyze and quickly learn an existing system to make modifications or enhancements.
  • Ability to monitor production systems and troubleshoot issues.
  • Must stay current on ever evolving technologies.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in React and React Native
  • 6+ years of experience in role of Developer
  • Experience in design documents and estimates.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge, experience, and ease with the following technologies:
    • React Native/React/Angular
    • JavaScript/NodeJS
    • Web Services
    • SQL
  • Familiarity with DevOps concepts, tools, and continuous delivery pipelines – Jenkins, Git, Jira, etc.
  • Comfortable with Linux/Windows

Highly Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of cloud/AWS development/engineering best practices is highly desired.
  • Familiar with Agile Development
  • Experience using JavaScript Libraries like AWS Amplify, Vue, Sencha Ext JS, Bootstrap to create Data-Rich & Responsive Web Applications.
  • Familiar with infrastructure as code frameworks such as AWS SAM, AWS CDK, Serverless
  • T-SQL and PL-SQL

Day to day responsibilities

  • Design and develop aesthetically designed, usable and responsive web pages using the application toolset based on business requirements.
  • Assist in defining and developing the UI layer architecture and framework.
  • Provide design and implementation inputs during the planning process of changes and improvements to the platform.
  • Prepare pertinent documentation around design decisions and future maintainability of system changes.
  • Implement server-side components (AWS API Gateway, AWS Lambda, etc.), if required.
  • Implement SQL stored procedures, if required.
  • Review and provide feedback on business requirements.
  • Suggest testing scenarios to QA team to help in testing system changes thoroughly. Answer any technical queries by QA team.
  • Provide production support in case of system issues/ outages.
  • Recommend and lead infrastructure enhancements for more efficient utilization of resources and to improve development processes.
  • Review security scans and ensure frameworks and libraries are up to date
  • Attend regular team status calls.
