Global Information Security (Identity and Access Management) Internship – Summer 2025

We are seeking motivated and talented students who want to help us solve some of the most complex challenges in financial technology. Technology teams at CME write and maintain ultra low-latency electronic trading platforms, risk management systems, and front-end trading interfaces, all of which are central to CME’s business. We are focused on designing, building and deploying customer focused solutions with passion and precision.

CME’s Technology Summer Internship program offers students opportunities to learn more about CME’s business, our role in the financial industry, and the types of technology that keep our markets running. Students will develop both their technical skills and expand their network with access to industry experts, while working alongside other talented and ambitious students with a passion for FinTech.

The Global Information Security (GIS) Department is a critical component of the Technology Division and is focused on delivering a safe and secure environment for the operation of our markets. The Identity and Access Management (IAM) intern will join the IAM engineering and operations team within GIS and gain exposure to multiple technologies used to control access to systems.

The IAM intern will gain exposure related to multiple processes and technologies we use to manage digital identities including:

  • Leveraging ITDR (identity threat detection and response) technology to reduce identity risk and prevent identity-based attacks
  • Leveraging federation and multi-factor authentication technology to enhance security for applications and accounts
  • Leveraging PAM (privilege access management) technology to ensure secrets are inventoried and managed properly
  • Learning how identity management standards are authored and participating in identity risk remediation efforts to prevent credential theft, stop lateral movement, and limit privileged escalation and abuse.
  • Learning how Google Cloud Platform (GCP) operates through training
  • Learning how product operating models operate by participating within Agile PODs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or related field
  • Concise communication skills with strong attention to detail
