Make an Impact

The IT Security Architect is responsible for reviewing current and new system and application security measures, as well as recommending, testing and overseeing implementations. This role requires a thorough understanding of complex IT applications and systems requiring the candidate is up to date with the latest security standards, systems, authentication protocols and best practices of security products.

The following are some IT Security Architect responsibilities:

  • Provides technical guidance to cross-functional application development teams
  • Designs, develops, and implements new security technologies as necessary to support business and technology solutions
  • Drafts conceptual and logical architecture specifications at both the enterprise and project level with a focus towards security
  • Maintains, updates, and otherwise ensures continued relevance of Enterprise Security Architecture (ESA)
  • Works with internal and 3rd parties to evolve legacy products to adherence to ESA
  • Assists internal teams during system design with the drafting of logical architectural models with a focus on security
  • Assists delivery teams during system design to promote the efficient re-use of IT assets
  • Advises delivery teams during system development to assure compliance with security principles, guidelines, standards, controls, and governance
  • Shares and articulates security vision with key stakeholders by organizing discussions and formal presentations
  • Works closely with other Enterprise architects to ensure a shared vision for architecture and security

Your Skills

  • 5 years plus of experience as an Information Security Professional, preferably within the architecture or engineering practices
  • Must possess a strong technical knowledge of security systems and processes with a required 5 years minimum experience in specific technology area
  • Advanced security certification is highly preferred (CISSP, OSCP, etc.)
  • Must have a strong application and network knowledge
  • An expert problem solver with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • An excellent communicator, with the ability to help cross-functional teams understand security needs
  • Must be advanced in technology information and tools required for specific area
  • Should possess excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills on scope with local teams
  • Preferred experience working with more than one platform to have greater perspective on available solutions
  • Experienced in continuous improvement to work processes and documentation
  • An expert at designing solutions and author specification documents as needed
  • Holds a good understanding of both GDPR and CCPA
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Specific Systems and Tools Preferred:

  • Web Application, Authentication, Cloud security, Linux/MS systems, networking and security best practices
