Position Overview:

The Novelis Network team is seeking a Global Network Lead (Security) The person in this role will report to the Global Network Director. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Network security. They will serve as a technical expert with responsibility for developing, planning, designing, and implementing enterprise network and security strategies in support of strategic IT business objectives. The lead position will partner with cross-functional hosting, application, and EUC teams to provide technical guidance to define, propose, and implement security solutions based on technical and functional requirements. The network security lead will be responsible for planning and recommending network hardware, firewall and security platforms, and network security design for the enterprise and automation networking infrastructure environment. The network lead will provide Tier III operational support for network security solutions and platforms.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with business management to determine business process and productivity needs and an appropriate technology strategy to support business goals.
  • Analyze technical needs, requirements, and state of the network’s infrastructure design, integration, and operations to create the most effective and secure solutions.
  • Work with technical management to engineer networks that effectively reflect business needs, service-level and availability requirements, and other technology parameters.
  • Develop design principles, models, plans, internal standards, budgets, and processes based on industry best practices.
  • Establish governing principles for network design, security, and deployment.
  • Establish key performance indicators, metrics, and focus to drive network performance, security and reliability.
  • Maintain vendor and partner relationships.
  • Plan and meet operational financial objectives by preparing budgets, managing expenditures, controlling variances, and initiating corrective action as necessary.
  • Manage technical network refresh regional budget accounting for device lifecycle management and capacity growth.
  • Participate in selection of networking and security technologies and products for implementation
  • Lead teams of other network designers and engineers in developing detailed designs and quality-control mechanisms during implementation.
  • Communicate the role and value of the network and security to the organization and present the business case for technology investments.
  • Responsible for high- and low-level network security planning, design, engineering, and optimization.
  • Develop strategies and direction for network solutions and current and emerging technologies (LAN, WAN, Security, wireless, VoIP, etc).
  • Plans and recommends network hardware, systems management software and engineering.
  • Evaluate and recommend new products, maintains knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise.
  • Responsible for overall success for network security implementation projects.
  • Handle multiple priorities in a constantly changing environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership, organizational and time management skills.
  • Additional responsibilities, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years’ experience in an information system role
  • Experience designing and deploying LAN/WAN infrastructures and network security protocols.
  • Experience with network security / infrastructure in enterprise datacenter solutions
  • Experience with VPN Architecture and remote access solutions.
  • Experience with Identity based policies and solutions.
  • High availability and complex BGP/EIGRP routing experience involving traffic engineering methodologies.
  • Excellent IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols.
  • Knowledge and experience implementing network infrastructure in an enterprise and production manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in documentation as well as creating and maintaining SOPs, maintenance plans, diagrams, developing platform and configuration standards.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations for applications and IT.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Relevant Network and Security Certifications.
  • Understanding of complex network and security principles (e.g. Routing Protocols, Layer 2 switching, DMZ’s, etc.).
  • Experience with network security / infrastructure in enterprise datacenter solutions.
  • Experience with Cisco and Palo Alto VPN Architecture / AnyConnect / Global Protect.
  • Experience with Cisco Identity Services solutions.
  • Advanced aptitude with software programs, and an expert in use of Excel (including macros, file links, group / outline), and SharePoint.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
