Job Description

The Information Security Co-op is responsible for supporting the various information security program initiatives, managing user access and working closely with internal IT teams to ensure compliance with various regulations. This is an excellent opportunity to get immersed in the Skyworks culture while developing “hands-on” skills and experience supporting activities relating to Information Security and Identity and Access Management. To do well in this role, you should have strong attention to details, knowledge of the different security frameworks (ISO, NIST, CIS) and an understanding of security best practices.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks associated with access management functions- account creation, account de-provisioning, access changes, researching access events, generating access reports, provide audit evidence for access, etc.
  • Review security access changes to determine if changes are approved and appropriate based on least privileges and proper segregation of duties.
  • Support company-wide certification management program encompassing any SOX relevant access to system resources and applications.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence with Information Security controls and standards
  • Conduct phishing simulations and assign security training for repeat offenders.
  • Help manage the security awareness training program
  • Perform internal security controls reviews, identify gaps, and monitor remediation activities through completion.
  • Develop dashboards to showcase the Information Security maturity progression.
  • Assist with the implementation of various security toolsets

Qualifications

  • College student currently enrolled in a degree program in pursuit of Information SecurityCybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field preferred
  • Ability to work for 6 consecutive months starting June 2022
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. and should not require visa sponsorship
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Preferred Skills:      

  • Familiarity with various security standards and frameworks (COBIT, NIST, ISO, SANS)
  • Understanding of controls requirements for SOX, GDPR, CCPA and other privacy laws
  • Previous experience with Active Directory, Exchange or SAP.
