Why this job is important:

The IT Support Specialist is a key role on the Infrastructure team. They are the most public face of the organization and the one member of the team virtually guaranteed to interact with all other Propeller Health employees. They must be willing to work independently to research and solve a wide variety of problems and manage IT projects from cradle to grave.

What We’re Looking For

  • Familiar with a wide variety of operating systems, including MacOS, Windows (both desktop and server), iOS, and Android.
  • Familiar with Active Directory.
  • Experience working with onsite and remote colleagues.
  • Experienced with Jamf Pro, InTune, and related technologies.
  • Familiar with Atlassian products like Jira and Confluence.
  • Self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Experienced with managing video conferencing systems (Zoom).
  • Capable of triaging incoming requests with minimal supervision.
  • Able to troubleshoot and resolve issues not previously encountered.
  • Capable of producing written documentation that can be followed by others.
  • Previous experience working in a small to medium sized company’s IT environment is desirable.
  • Able to maintain a positive attitude when things break.
  • Projects calm towards other employees when helping them with technical issues.
  • Capable of planning and executing IT projects with minimal supervision.
  • Understands the importance of teamwork and does not have a hero complex.
  • A good listener who respects their colleagues, but is willing to give a dissenting opinion in a group setting.

  • An owner. You pick work up off the floor, tackle problems head-on and solve them.

What You Will Do 

  • Be a first contact for technology ranging across phones, conferencing systems, networks, software, and laptops. Procure equipment as needed.
  • Account management tasks across a variety of systems: creating accounts; helping people who lost their access for one reason or another; and deleting accounts. Work closely with our People team during onboarding and offboarding.
  • Research and implement solutions to IT problems without close supervision.
  • Troubleshoot networking problems and interface with our network vendor to build out new offices and support existing offices.
  • Track inventory, image systems, and prepare reports (inventory, compliance, accounts).
  • Manage software licenses.
  • Work with vendors to control costs and maintain productive relationships.
  • Work independently on projects to integrate new software products into our single sign-on solution.
  • Work independently administering mobile device management software.
  • Administer Amazon Web Services (AWS) Workspaces and AppStream 2.0 without close supervision.
  • Work independently to administer IT services and infrastructure.
  • Help set and maintain compliance with corporate information security standards covering systems managed by this role.
  • Manage our various WordPress.com-hosted websites along with internal stakeholders.
  • Other projects as assigned.
