Security Specialist (Borgata)

Location: Atlantic City, New Jersey

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

As a Security Specialist, you will be responsible for patrolling and monitoring the property and respond to emergency situations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide security and protection for guests, employees, and company property, uphold law and order in the hotel in conjunction with local law enforcement
• Check identification of all guests entering venue to confirm validity and requirements in accordance with departmental and company policies, practices, and procedures
• Administer first aid and assist injured guests or employees, ensure proper authorities are contacted and remain alert for any suspicious persons or activities; report safety hazards immediately
• Answer guests’ questions and furnish detailed information on facilities, attractions, retail shops, and food and beverage locations
• Possess knowledge and use of all radio communication procedures and corresponding codes
• React professionally and rationally in emergency and pressure situations, restrain intoxicated, disorderly, or insubordinate guests or remove them from premises; follow the established procedures for escorting and assisting necessary employees to cash control
• Communicate professionally with management; promote and practice safety awareness and behavior, adhere to safety standards and direct emergency vehicles when called upon
• Perform other job-related duties as requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledgeable of methods used to identify false and fraudulent forms of identification
• Able to keep up-to-date on new and updated forms of identification
• Good working knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
• Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
• Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail
• Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills
• Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of experience as a Security ID checker in an entertainment/nightclub environment
• Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
