Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success with initiatives relating to the defining and assessing of Data Governance strategy, architecture and practices, and technology implementation including the following:
- Command of governance models to support data governance efforts in an enterprise setting, including organizing data governance across a 3-line of defense model.
- Experience leading Data Governance projects to define strategy and roadmap, operating model, policies/standards, and tool design and process documents.
- Knowledge and experience with data analysis and enterprise metadata management, especially in the context of Privacy and Data Lifecycle use cases.
- Experience deploying data lineage and data flow inventory solutions.
- Demonstrated experience implementing structured data archiving and data lifecycle management activities.
- Background in DCAM or related data governance frameworks.
- Management of teams implementing Data Governance tools with a complex business environment, through requirements gathering, building, testing, and production roll-out.
- Experience leading Data Governance projects to define strategy and roadmap, operating model, policies/standards, and tool design and process documents.
- Identification and fulfillment of client needs conducive to building solid relationships with clients.
- Familiarity with project planning, engagement administration, budget management, and the successful completion of engagement work streams.
- Collaboration with business development teams responsible for writing and presenting proposals to prospective clients.
- Participation in business development opportunities and/or engagements from pre-sale and initial scoping through final delivery and sign-off; and,
- Demonstrated documentation and presentation skills.
- Ability to synthesize broad initiative into demonstrable phases and milestones.
Desired Knowledge/Skills:
- Understanding of data privacy, data protection and regulatory aspects of data governance, such as creating and implementing a data rights framework, including contractual requirements, controls set, etc.
- Knowledge of data privacy and data protection including applicable regulations and the handling of sensitive information.
- Understanding of information governance and data lifecycle management, including retention management.
- Understanding of privacy, protection and information governance data discovery tools (e.g., BigID, OneTrust, Microsoft etc).
- Understanding of overall data architecture, profiling, quality, metadata management etc.
- Leading evaluation of new solutions and services, providing a business case on whether the firm should develop skills and vendor relations within new Data Governance solutions and technologies.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5-7 years experience in a subject matter expert role relating to Data Protection, DLP/Insider Threat Information Security, and/or e-Discovery.
- 5-7 years successful experience in leading and facilitating and project teams, preferably in a risk management, information security, or e-discovery work environment.
- Executive presence required for productive partner and client collaboration.
- Proven track record in leading high visibility, high impact change management initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver clear, concise, and factually accurate written and oral communications appropriate for the intended audience.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of data loss analysis, especially identification of threat events and anomaly detection.
- In-depth understanding of methods used to gather information from users, including attorneys and senior management, analyze large volumes of unstructured data, establish metrics and report results to management reporting, and work collaboratively with internal and external subject-matter experts, clients, and vendors.
- Advanced knowledge of risk management principles, practices, and technologies.
- Certification(s) Preferred :
- EDM Council DCAM Certified Assessor, Data Governance & Stewardship Professional (DGSP), DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
