The primary purpose of this position is the design, security, delivery, management and continuous improvement of IT network services to align with company business needs; as well as establishing, measuring and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to services, processes and delivery. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s and it’s subsidaries brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes. Oversee engineering team workload performing work prioritization, scheduling, resource allocation, identify deliverables and assignment/tracking of delivery dates. Build and maintain relationships with other business and IT leaders to understand initiative requirements and method of communicating new work and statuses. Develop and oversee peer reviews of network designs, configurations, integration and migration of existing and planned solutions. Remain current on new network technologies and solutions assisting the Network Architect in developing direction on what emerging technologies should be introduced, integrated and assimilated. Direct the identification and implementation of service improvement initiatives as well as future technology; head up all risk analyses of proposed alternatives to systems or technology integration; collaborate on new technology potential, evaluation, tactical planning and design. Maintain a 5 year budget plan with a balanced technology refresh. Prepare, submit, track and report on annual network capital and expense budget based on 5 year plan and planned business initiatives. Prepare, submit and secure expenditure approval (CER) for all approved project capital requests. Perform mid-year spend review notifying management of any capital which will not be spent. Responsible for ensuring all approved project capital items are received, invoiced and paid prior to fiscal period end date. Identify, evaluate and recommend new solutions and services. Meet regularly with vendors to monitor and address product or service performance; assist with vendor contract negotiations, renewal and service or leasing arrangements. Participate in the development and maintenance of network disaster recovery plans and system operation management support. Oversee network security audits to ensure discovered items are remediated in a timely manner. Ensure all security policies are followed. Review and update network policies upon request. Enforce network engineering staff follow all company, security and network policies. Manage specifically assigned network contracts ensuring replacement and/or renewals are properly planned and executed. Assist in all network contract negotiations. Ensure all contract SLA’s are provided to billing and network operations teams for enforcement. Experience / Requirements Network infrastructure technology professional skill level required. Cisco CCNP Certification or equivalent experience required. Protocols/Standards: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, RIP, 802.11a/b/g/n, 802.1x, WPA/WPA2, VPN, DMVPN, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VRRP, HSRP, IPSEC, RADIUS, RTP, SIP. Network Services: MPLS, Cable, T1, OC3/12, DSL, 4G/LTE, etc. Hardware: Cisco routers, switches. Cisco wireless access points / controller IOS and security bundle for configurations. Hardware: Cisco routers, switches. Cisco wireless access points / controller IOS and security bundle for configurations. Fortigate firewalls, Linksys routers, Hughes routers and Cradlepoint routers. Cisco IP Phones, Call Manager. Network Management Use: Prime, Prime Assurance, Orion, Wildpacket software, Wireshark, Fortimanager, Cisco ISE, TACACS, Cisco CE, Acelive ARx. Problem Resolution: Packet capture analysis. Ability to isolate performance issues to network, system or application. Project and Problem Management: Knowledge of Service Now, WorkFront or similar systems such of MS ProjectNetwork Design: WAN failover, COS/QOS, VPN, VPC, spanning tree, VoIP, structured Cat5/6 cabling. Change Management: Familiar with change management products and mass deployment of common configurations in a staged approach. Tracking and audit of changes. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
