Job Description

Core Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing standards-based documents for the installation of computing or communications components to support Con Edison’s enterprise security infrastructure.
• Assist in preparing detailed bid specifications for the installation of physical security related network equipment to support Con Edison’s Corporate Security infrastructure. Assist the technical evaluations of contractor proposals, software or hardware. Implement cyber security best practices for all security related equipment.
• Assist in deploying various security applications and network infrastructure, including installing, configuring, provisioning, and testing of hardware components, software, and firmware applications. Once deployed, become Corporate Security‘s lead in supporting the applications.
• Provide guidance and consulting on all IT systems within corporate security. Work with IT and approved vendors to perform annual maintenance/system optimization for all IT systems within corporate security.
• Represent Corporate Security on various integration teams when corporate network systems are being transitioned and/or updated.
• Assist with vendor installations of security equipment being joined to the corporate network.
• Performs root cause analysis and recommends preventative actions or alternative solutions. Troubleshoots and resolves client network issues. Works collaboratively with other departments to achieve all project goals.
• Must be available 24/7, on call, and/or participate in off-hour emergency response activities as required.
• Plans for the physical installation, commissioning, and maintenance of all types of physical security application devices.
• Responsible for the planning and installation of new systems which are compatible with existing security systems and related upgrades.
• Will be responsible for the CCTV equipment firmware upgrade program.
• Complete an annual review with door owners (within ProWatch) of access lists to their respective doors verifying it is up to date and accurate.
• Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math or Engineering or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience Or
• Associate’s Degree preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Math or applicable degree minimum of ten (10) years of related work experience.

Required Work Experience

• Familiarity with Corporate Security Network Platforms Required
• Proficient in Microsoft Project Required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills Required
• Proficiency with Structured Query Language (SQL) such as Oracle PL/SQL or Microsoft T-SQL Preferred
• 5 – 10 years Experience working within the ConEd Corporate Network environment

Licenses & Certifications

• Driver’s License Required

Other Physical Demands

• Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
• Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
• Must be available 24/7, on call, and/or participate in off-hour emergency response activities as required.
