Job Description

The Information Security Specialist I has a depth of knowledge within designated Information Security area of responsibility that is applied to diverse assignments. This position may collaborate with customers, vendors, industry consultants, and company management in order to drive results. This position may guide and share knowledge with other IT and Information Security staff.

  • Support and perform Information Security reviews of applications, services, platforms, and cloud solutions.
  • Implement, review, and assess Cloud, SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS for compliance with Fluor and independent cyber security standards.
  • Maintain critical planning, monitoring, and reporting processes as well as required documentation, for the timely coordination and completion of project tasks
  • Translate customer and business requirements into practical and affordable solutions
  • Coordinate, direct, and lead project status meetings, confirm milestones, and ensure goals are achieved
  • Ensure that project deliverables and schedules are met by technical resources; manage escalation to the appropriate IT resource management when needed; provide feedback to technical resource manager on the performance of technical staff
  • Participate with cross-functional team members in issue identification, process impacts, and solution development discussions to optimize end-to-end solutions
  • Leverage outside vendors, contactors, technical teams, and other departments to drive for results
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and five (5) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to nine (9) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Experience with Office365, Azure, and other cloud platforms
  • Experience performing Penetration Tests, Application Assessments, or other security assessments of applications or platforms
  • Investigate and review Cybersecurity events
  • Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents
  • Work with the security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities.
  • Experience using scripting languages such as Powershell to automate tasks
  • Familiarity with common security standards such as ISO 27001/27002, NIST-800, and similar
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Accredited degree or global equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, or related technical discipline
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Five (5) years related experience in technical services for hardware/software engineering and/or production support of Information Technology (IT) services or cybersecurity
  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs
  • Demonstrated strong technical and non-technical communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills
