Sr DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior DevOps Engineer, will be the subject matter expert in systems, infrastructure, automation, and security architecture coupled with the ability to design and implement those solutions. The Senior DevOps Engineer will work closely with delivery, will manage client relationships, and act as a leader within the practice. This position requires excellent communication, mentoring, time management skills, and the ability to coordinate well with a team. Candidates will be expected to show personal initiative and assume primary ownership for these duties.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement next generation system architecture and automation solutions

• Implement, maintain, and improve Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery environments

• Own and lead initiatives to define, design, and implement DevOps solutions which includes reference architectures, estimates, and costing

• Advise business and technology delivery leadership on how to translate the client’s infrastructure and automation business requirements into executable technology solutions

• Act as a subject matter expert on DevOps best practices with Cloud Formation, Auto Scaling Groups, and Configuration Management

• Perform analysis best practices and emerging concepts in DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, and Enterprise Security

• Acts as a technical liaison between clients, service engineering teams and support

• Perform profiling, troubleshooting of existing solutions.

• Create technical documentation

Professional – Education & Experience

Education: Qualification Level Education Degree Specialization

Minimum Required Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related field

Experience: Qualification Level Experience

Minimum Required Six or more years of DevOps engineering, programming or application development experience

Minimum Required Experience in CI/CD

Minimum Required Experience with automated deployment, continuous integration, and release engineering tools. or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Knowledge & Skills

• Broad knowledge of software development and software testing methodologies along with change and configuration management practices in Linux-based environments

• Strong communication skills – verbal and written
