Hexcel is currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Lead global IT projects including the design, implementation, and creation of support documentation.
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including software & firmware upgrades, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability including device resource utilization and capacity planning.
  • Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting, including on-call, to resolve issues.
  • Work closely with the Cyber Security team to ensure Hexcel’s security posture is in line with governing bodies (NIST/CMMC) and assist in the selection and implementation of security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
  • Manage IT vendor relationships to guarantee favorable business outcomes.
  • Handling network administration functions across the globe and work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
  • Researching and analyzing known system exploits, and vulnerabilities to support development and execute vulnerability remediation.
  • Assisting in problem solving and developing procedures and processes to ensure that audit and regulatory requirements are met.

Qualifications:

  • An IT/Network Engineering degree is strongly preferred.
  • A proven track record in managing global WAN/LANs and layer2 & 3 networks is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools is crucial.
  • A detailed understanding of networking protocols – TCP/IP, BGP, VRRP, STP, 802.11, QoS is necessary.
  • Experience in deploying and administering wireless, wired and Cloud environments is essential.
  • A well-rounded knowledge of Palo Alto NGFW technologies is preferable.
  • Previous IT experience supporting manufacturing environments preferred.
  • A solid understanding of the networking OSI model, experience in architecting and managing Cloud (Azure/AWS) deployments.
  • Previous exposure to SD-WAN technologies preferred.
  • Understanding active directory, group policy, NPS and DHCP architectures and best practices.
