Cloudera is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), to improve and maintain the infrastructure which powers Cloudera Data Platform (CDP). You will take part in defining patterns across the organization applying to Infrastructure as Code (IaC), distributed-systems, CI/CD, observability, security and more.
To comply with FedRAMP requirements, candidates must be US citizens on US soil to be considered for this role. This is a US-Remote opportunity.
As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer, you will:
- Improve reliability and scalability of the platform
- Build systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications (platform engineering)
- Optimize existing systems and eliminate toil through simplification and automation
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve availability, reliability and observability of their services
- Serve as a role model and mentor, to up skill other engineers
- Provide technical leadership to SRE peers and other engineering teams
- Influence the product roadmap for delivering reliable services to customers
- Monitor availability, latency and overall service health
- Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
- Participate in an on-call rotation
We’re excited about you if you have:
- Have 10+ years industry experience as an SRE, DevOps or related role
- Enjoy collaborating, mentoring and are a strong communicator
- Experience with observability and application monitoring
- Proven ability to handle multiple complex technical projects with distributed teams
- Experience with scaling a PaaS/SaaS and maintaining reliability
- Experience with performance analysis, troubleshooting, tuning, and capacity planning
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills that span contexts: Linux, networking, and application code
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) expertise, especially EKS, networking, security and scaling
- Experience with container technology and microservices architectures, including Kubernetes
- Experience with Terraform and related technologies
- Experience with CI/CD tools, such as Spinnaker, Jenkins, Flux CD, Argo CD
- Programming experience in Python, Go or similar languages.
- Experience with GitOps and Git-based automation
You may also have:
- Experience with zero-trust networks such as Istio
- Experience with database systems, including Postgres and MySQL
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform
The expected base salary range for this role in:
- Colorado is $151,000 – $189,000
The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location
