This position is associated with the sale of Intel’s NAND memory and storage business to SK hynix (You can read more about the transaction in the press release – https://newsroom.intel.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2020/10/nand-memory-news-q-a.pdf). The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business’ storage solutions, including client and enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data. This is an exciting time to be at Intel – come join our Data Center NAND Division as an SSD Security Architect, and work on one of the most advanced 3DNAND and SSD technology portfolios in the world. As the global leader in the semiconductor industry, Intel possesses many industry-leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell (QLC) NAND Flash products. This position aligns to Phase 1 of the transaction, which includes the 3DNAND enterprise and client SSD business. Phase 1 is expected to close in late 2021, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions. At deal close, all employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition to SK hynix.
Responsible for secure design, development and operation of Intel’s hardware and software products and services. Responsibilities may include threat assessments, design of security components, and vulnerability assessment. Ensures products conform to standards and specifications. Develops plans and cost estimates and assesses projects to analyze risks. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgment and formal processes. Maintains substantial knowledge of state of the art security principles, theories, attacks and contributes to literature and conferences. May participate in development of intellectual property. Requires thorough knowledge of security practices, procedures and capabilities in order to perform nonrepetitive, analytical work.
As an SSD Security Architect, you will be an integral part of defining and driving new security technologies for future Data Center and Client SSD products. These technologies will be largely centered around industry standards, such as NIST SP 800 series specifications that apply to storage devices, DMTF SPDM, and others. Your areas of ownership will include: (1) defining architectural specifications that capture hardware and software requirements for new security features, (2) Partnering with planning organizations to influence product security roadmaps (3) Monitoring and (when necessary) influencing industry specifications, (4) Providing architectural support for security features in development and (5) Collaborating with other Security, hardware and software teams to ensure new security features progress through the product development lifecycle. This is a highly visible role which will require strong communication skills, presenting to senior leaders throughout the organization, and synthesizing inputs from a variety of stakeholders to derive implementable security architectures.
Colorado Pay Transparency Law requires that Intel discloses the compensation for jobs which could be performed in Colorado. Intel anticipates that the annual base pay range for this role in Colorado is 130,020.00 – 195,420.00.
In addition to base pay, regular Intel employees are eligible for an Annual Performance Bonus (“APB”) and Quarterly Profit Bonus (“QPB”). Payout of APB is subject to eligibility and other program conditions as well as the Company’s performance to its operational and financial goals. Payout of QPB connects Intel’s employees to the quarterly profits of the Company. Employees in eligible sales and marketing positions receive commission in lieu of APB but are eligible for QPB. Here are some additional attributes required of a successful candidate:
� Proven background in researching, recommending, and specifying security features.
� Ability to translate business/customer requirements into implementable architectural solutions encompassing both hardware and software
� Ability to collaborate across a diverse set of functional stakeholders to ensure security features integrate with other platform requirements and devising alternative solutions when there is conflict.
� Ability to provide technical direction for hardware and software component design activities and manage / track progress through implementation
� Collaborate with other architects and planners to influence the shaping of future security features
� Good communication skills across all organizational functions, senior management and customers
� Familiarity with existing security industry standards defined by NIST, DMTF, Trusted Computing Group (TCG) and others
� Solid background in cryptography and/or applied cryptography
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher with 6+ years of experience in computer science, computing engineering, electrical engineering or a related field. Minimum 3+ years of experience with cryptography and/or applied cryptography. Familiarity with security development lifecycle practices.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Well versed in industry security and cryptography standards. Previous experience designing and/or developing security hardware and/or software. Previous experience developing embedded systems.
