Sr. Solutions Engineer

Job Summary:

The Senior Solutions Engineer will design, deploy, and manage systems for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments. The Solutions Engineer is responsible for the identification and selection of appropriate cloud services based on requirements and constraints, has deep subject matter expertise, and can evaluate new technologies for fit in current infrastructure architecture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s strategic business plans
• Must be a solid team player with excellent analytical skills and a strong desire to continue learning and expanding skill sets
• Provide architectural consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to Cloud Architect, systems analysts, development, and the operations/business units
• Build out new, and manage existing cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Azure CLI, PowerShell, and CI/CD.
• Assist in building out hybrid cloud environment
• Document and develop in-depth knowledge of company’s existing IT cloud architecture/infrastructure, and technology portfolio
• Create Best practice documentation to be leveraged by the infrastructure team
• Develop and manage IT cloud infrastructure including capacity planning, and cost management
• Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a cloud technology standards policy
• Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility
• Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in IT cloud infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities
• Design, develop, and implementation of end-to-end IT integrated systems including tiered security architecture
• Anticipate, mitigate, identify, respond to, and resolve problems affecting cloud systems performance, efficiency, and availability
• Is a point of contact for team member questions, issues, and escalations on projects
• Regular time and attendance including time sheet entries
• Other duties as assigned

Desired Experience:

• 5+ years of experience as a System/Cloud Infrastructure Engineer working in Azure or AWS environments.
• Strong understanding of Cloud technologies, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code. Preferably Azure Pipelines, Terraform, PowerShell.
• Expertise with VMware vSphere, building VMware environments from scratch including enterprise backup solutions. Veeam experience a plus.
• Expertise with full Microsoft stack including AD, DHCP, DNS, DFS Namespace, Windows Servers. Experience with Linux servers a plus.
• Good understanding of networking solutions including Load Balancer, WAF, GSLB. SD-WAN experience a plus.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred, or equivalent experience.
• IT certifications a plus. Azure Administrator or Architect Certificate (AZ-104 AZ-303). VCP, MCP, MCSE. Terraform Associate.
