Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Senior QA Engineer will be to deliver QA for software development agile teams in a cloud environment including designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions. The position will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.) The QA role plays an important part in our company’s product development process. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs, while being cost-effective. This position requires someone well-versed in supporting QA processes and products in public clouds to perform agile continuous QA, QC, performance, and integration testing for software products.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s policies, practices, and procedures. All Las Vegas Sands Corp. Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
  • Monitor debugging process results
  • Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train others to implement solutions
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies
  • Responsible for delivery of test engineering, QA/QC efforts, integration testing and performance testing support to agile software development teams
  • Develop a deep understanding of the products
  • Work closely with development team to drive defects to resolution, to understand new features and to suggest improvements
  • Maintain systems with builds for testing features and latest development loads
  • Independently contribute to team objectives
  • Contribute to self-service knowledgebase, operational procedures, and documents
  • Consistently demonstrate professionalism in all interactions
  • Execute business communication on system planned maintenance, incident status notifications and other customer communications
  • Perform job duties in a safe manner.
  • Attend work as scheduled on a consistent and regular basis.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline required
  • Advanced degree in technology or engineering is a plus
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 8+ years of Continuous QA and QC leadership experience with expertise in developments within public cloud providers, or SaaS solutions and supporting software development in DevOps environments.
  • Experience of testing in Kubernetes environment
  • Experience with JIRA, GitHub, CI/CD tooling
  • Experience of Chaos Engineering and Fuzzing
  • Able to Multi-task and handle various types of requests from different people/areas
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English

Must be able to:

  • Physically access assigned workspace areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work remotely as necessary
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, and dust.
  • Utilize laptop and standard keyboard to perform essential functions of the job.
