POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr AWS Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing large-scale projects in the Amazon cloud with integrations to the CKE Snowflake data warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications and an ability to customize them to help our business become more secure and efficient. Extensive knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, Glue, Step Functions and Kinesis, and solid knowledge of Snowflake and data warehousing principles are essential to keep us on the cutting edge. This position will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of IT operations and an ongoing impact on growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

May perform any or all of the following duties:

  • Work in tandem with our integrations team to identify and implement the most optimal AWS-based solutions for the company.
  • Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards for code quality and thoughtful design.
  • Manage AWS development environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
  • Create Snowflake tables, views and stored procedures as required.
  • Learn to create data transformation flows to dimension and fact tables using the cloud-based tool Coalesce.
  • Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy AWS applications, including real-time transaction streaming and data warehouse integrations.
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for AWS solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures.
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Must possess approximately seven (7) years of any combination of experience and/or education that demonstrates a commanding knowledge of computer science, information technology, mathematics, architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms or a technology-related field
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Understanding of and experience with the five pillars of a well-architected framework
  • Experience in the following AWS services: Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, API Gateway, Kinesis, CloudFormation, CDK, CLI and code pipelines
  • Strong experience in SQL and either Snowflake, Oracle or SQL Server
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of business analysts, developers and infrastructure admins.
  • Knowledge of web services, API, REST
  • AWS certification preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Restaurant Support Center (Hybrid) position in a fast paced, high volume of activity and a deadline driven environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sitting for extended periods of time, using telephone, typing and/or operating a computer and/or mouse
