POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Security Engineer will be responsible for leading engineering projects for CDK’s InfoSec team. These projects include several diverse functions such as network segmentation, firewall management, firewall monitoring, and the re-architecture of security engineering infrastructure to reduce on-premises footprint and further enable cloud migration. The Senior Security Engineer will report to the Security Engineering Manager and will be part of a global team with colleagues both in India and the United States. The Senior Security Engineer will support the deployment and management of technology and processes for Cyber Security functional areas outlined above and will contribute to enhancing the Cyber Security strategy for the organization globally.

As the Senior Security Engineer, one is responsible for, however not limited to, the following:

• Drive the security requirements on behalf of the InfoSec team for network segmentation initiatives

• Re-architect the InfoSec Security Engineering infrastructure to allow for quicker adaptation from on-premises to Cloud and to reduce operational overhead

• Define the InfoSec process for firewall rule auditing, including the automatic detection of lax rules

• Implement a process for Cloud environment auditing with tools such as Prowler or Scout2

• Determine a risk-based approach to improving Cloud security architecture

• Working with the Incident Response team, drive the security requirements for hardening firewall rules

• Collaborate with cross-functional entities across the enterprise

• Mentor junior engineers on security best practices

• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5-10 years in information security, network security, and/or cyber security

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• Must have strong understanding of Linux

• Experience in enterprise security architecture

• Knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure, and operations

• Exposure to software development methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile

• Proficiency with MS-Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and MS Project

• Ability to draft and implement technical operational procedures and documentation

• Ability to clearly explain technical concepts using non-technical language

• Demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships with IT and Security organizations

• Exposure to task automation with Python or similar scripting languages

• Demonstrate the ability to solve problems and develop commercially viable solutions

• Knowledge of the Splunk Query Language (SPL) or similar query language for analysis of data

• Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals
