The City Auditor Department is seeking to fill a full-time Senior Information Technology Internal Auditor position. This position conducts Information Technology audits including audits of application controls, general information technology controls, and information securitySenior Information Technology Internal Auditor should have a strong understanding of internal control frameworks and standards such as COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001, NIST SP800-53, and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. This position assesses risks, determines audit objectives, prepares complex audit programs, and conducts fieldwork testing. The Senior Information Technology Internal Auditor produces written reports on audit findings and may at times lead audit projects.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients.
  • Strong data analytic skills, including familiarity with tools like Teammate Analytics, Power BI, or ACL.
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).

SALARY

Pay Range: $84,468 to $124,800 annually.

Hiring Range: $84,468 to $107,806 annually.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of experience performing complex information systems auditing, including supervisory or team leader experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public administration, information systems, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree/certification through one of the following is required: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA); Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP); Certified Information Security Manager (CISM); or prior certification as an Internal Security Assessor (ISA) or Qualified Security Assessor (QSA).
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Preferred Qualifications

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus e xperience:

  • Writing reports.
  • Giving presentations.
  • Auditing IT general controls.
  • Working in a government setting.
  • Auditing application controls.
  • As an internal auditor conducting risk assessments, creating audit programs, and documenting fieldwork.
  • Conducting audits to IT control frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, ISO 270001, NIST SP800-53, and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.
  • Using software to analyze data, such as Power BI, ACL, Idea, TM Analytics, Oracle BI, SAP BOBJ, or Tableau.
  • Auditing according to Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS, or Yellow Book).
