Your Role and Responsibilities
The Security Services Garage Technical Leader will be responsible for preparing the IBM team for the Garage Sessions with clients, participating in meetings with clients and IBM security subject matter experts to assist the Garage Facilitator and help to ensure successful execution and conducting Garage Sessions. This role acts as a technical security leader, provides the Security POV and has a solid understanding of end-to-end security with a bias towards security strategy. The Garage Technical Leader assists the Garage Facilitator in extracting the collective insight, knowledge, wisdom and experience of the group and use it to meet the goals of the garage sessions as well as to develop a point of view of the client’s security issues and challenges. Lastly, the Garage Technical Lead is responsible to work with the extended Security team in developing the solutions, roadmap and final report and/or proposals that is delivered to the IBM client.
This domain includes contributing to the garage agenda within the respective competency segment, such as, Security Strategy, Identity and Access Management, Threat Management, Cloud Security and OT Security as well as others as they are developed. The Garage Technical Leader is responsible for providing materials and content for the Garage Session that are pertinent to the agenda. They are required to have an in-depth understanding and business acumen of the client’s respective industry as well as the client’s goals and objectives as they relate to Security.
The Garage Technical Leader must be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of cybersecurity, ability to listen and extract information from meeting participants, present IBM’s Security POV and have a broad perspective and security acumen. The Garage Technical Leader must have excellent organizational and planning skills as well as the ability to translate and connect issues communicated by the client to solutions that can be answered by the IBM Security portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have strong collaboration and co-creation skills along with the ability to document, understand and translate the output from the Garage Sessions into transformational roadmaps, proposals and presentations that are client ready.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity either in a presales, sales or technical role
At least 5 years of experience working in projects related to Garage or Garage type sessions
At least 2 years of experience working across diverse teams to facilitate solutions
Working knowledge of facilitation tools and techniques (Mural, Trello, etc)
Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Readiness to travel 25% annually
