Your Role and Responsibilities

The IBM Cloud Networking Services group is looking for a technical, talented, innovative and enthusiastic Security Risk Compliance (SRC) Engineer professional to lead and drive compliance, security awareness, training, applying best practices for secured development across our growing portfolio of next generation network services for IBM Cloud.

Security is something that every development team needs to incorporate into every phase of their product development life cycle and the Security Risk Compliance (SRC) Engineer is expected to ensure security is built into the design, planning, implementation, and execution of our network services.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and produce evidence in response to audit requests for supported service(s).
  • Streamline audit engagements by applying SRE principles to develop strategies and tooling that automate evidence collection and production and anticipate data production requests.
  • Develop tools and strategies to assess the health of security controls and adherence to policy, process, and procedures requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation and rapid remediation of identified deviations.
  • Develop test cases to ensure observed deviations do not reoccur.
  • Serve as primary SME for service control implementation, design, and operating procedures in audit engagements.
  • Drive risk culture transformation in service teams.

Short term expectations

  • Collect and provide evidence for ISMAP and C5 audits
  • Leverage learning from ISMAP and C5 to begin developing strategies to automate and anticipate evidence collection

The goal of an SRC Engineer is to;

  • Enable the business by increasing time to market through the attainment of regulations thereby removing security regulations as a barrier to adoption by our customers.
  • Identify and mitigate information security risk through continuous control monitoring and automation.
  • Scale global regulation requirements through proactive definition of security controls and an applicable security management system to establish scope and audit requirements.
  • Work across regulated industries to support IBM Cloud customers in their own compliance journey and be prepared to act on audit requirements.

SRC Core Competencies

  • Streamline audit engagements by applying SRE principles to develop strategies and tooling that automate evidence collection and production and anticipate data production requests.
  • Provide guidance on security and compliance practices and solutions to help business units build & deliver solutions
  • Design and contribute to security architecture processes that enable the enterprise to develop and implement security solutions and capabilities that are clearly aligned with the business, technology, and threat drivers
  • Participate in and drive cloud and application security strategic initiatives and programs that feed directly into the organization’s strategic security plan.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction in the design and implementation of automated solutions, based on a set of standards and processes that enable our application developers to easily consume security and compliance services.
  • Providing subject matter expertise in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of appropriate enterprise programs, policies, and procedures to be compliant with regulations governing the banking and financial services industry
  • Collaborating with security compliance leaders and technical security teams to define and implement security processes and procedures based on financial services requirements and industry-standard best practices. Defining the requirements and validating the procedures and audit testing methodology
  • Experience with Cloud operations and network security services, including firewalls, intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning, OS patching, system hardening/health checking
  • Excellent skills in risk assessment processes, policy development, proposals, work statements, product evaluations, and delivery of technology Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Experience with compliance programs such as HiTRUST, FFIEC or FedRAMP/ FISMA, HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2, or PCI
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail

If you are hired into a Colorado work location, the anticipated compensation range for the position 135,000 to 185,600.00 is based on a full-time schedule. Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Working knowledge of common security frameworks, such as NIST 800-53 and ISO27k
  • Process automation experience
  • SRE experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Deep technical understanding of cloud concepts, able to learn and explain IBM cloud technical control implementation
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with compliance programs such as FFIEC or FedRAMP/ FISMA, HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2, PCI, NIST, ISO,ISMAP, C5, ITAR etc.
  • Experience in risk assessment processes, service delivery operations, and software development

Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Ability to understand enterprise business computing operations/requirements, and in particular, Cloud and communicate to service lines what is expected in order to consider a work item complete
  • Ability to stand firm on issues yet be flexible and creative when working with stakeholders to find effective solutions
