Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Senior Business Analyst for IBM Cloud IaaS you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major cloud operations challenges. You will team with best professionals to develop and test strategies that ultimately impact the growth strategies of IBM public cloud. And you will do it all in a collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibilities, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation/out of the box thinking.

This role will support the IBM Leadership, Learning and Inclusions organization to acquire, analyze, and produce data/reports for business operations and support the management for business decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and produce evidence in response to audit requests for supported service(s).
  • Streamline audit engagements by applying SRE principles to develop strategies and tooling that automate evidence collection and production and anticipate data production requests.
  • Develop tools and strategies to assess the health of security controls and adherence to policy, process, and procedures requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation and rapid remediation of identified deviations.
  • Develop test cases to ensure observed deviations do not reoccur.
  • Serve as primary SME for service control implementation, design, and operating procedures in audit engagements.
  • Drive risk culture transformation in service teams.

Short term expectations

  • Collect and provide evidence for ISMAP and C5 audits
  • Leverage learning from ISMAP and C5 to begin developing strategies to automate and anticipate evidence collection

BA Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee implementation of cloud operations strategies that will drive operational efficiencies, customer satisfaction, growth acceleration, and cost competitiveness for IBM public cloud in alignment with the broader IBM cloud strategy
  • Drive step-change improvements in cloud operational effectiveness by connecting product developers, offering managers and support teams on key product decisions, measuring key metrics, analyzing key trends and testing hypothesis using rigorous monitoring and analysis.
  • Strong executive communication skills with impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • May manage and develop 1-2 analysts. Coaching and mentoring associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent
  • Lead cloud service delivery and support efforts across all stakeholder groups with a strategic intent of ease of consumption, supportability and availability. Build targeted insights to inform developers and offering managers on service adoptions, supportability and availability
  • Manage and sequence delivery of operations intent, build business requirements and execute against the operations strategy. Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently
  • Partner closely with colleagues across the cloud including: Service leads, Offering managers, Support, Finance and others to drive improvement in quality, availability, and customer satisfaction
  • A proven track record of strategic decision making and problem solving based on analytics with strong business judgment, leadership and integrity.
  • He/she should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to drive the strategic intent of the cloud business
  • Results oriented with intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment
  • Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. Previous consulting experience is a plus

The goal of an SRC Engineer is to

  • Enable the business by increasing time to market through the attainment of regulations thereby removing security regulations as a barrier to adoption by our customers.
  • Identify and mitigate information security risk through continuous control monitoring and automation.
  • Scale global regulation requirements through proactive definition of security controls and an applicable security management system to establish scope and audit requirements.
  • Work across regulated industries to support IBM Cloud customers in their own compliance journey and be prepared to act on audit requirements.

SRC Core Competencies

  • Streamline audit engagements by applying SRE principles to develop strategies and tooling that automate evidence collection and production and anticipate data production requests.
  • Provide guidance on security and compliance practices and solutions to help business units build & deliver solutions
  • Design and contribute to security architecture processes that enable the enterprise to develop and implement security solutions and capabilities that are clearly aligned with the business, technology, and threat drivers
  • Participate in and drive cloud and application security strategic initiatives and programs that feed directly into the organization’s strategic security plan.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction in the design and implementation of automated solutions, based on a set of standards and processes that enable our application developers to easily consume security and compliance services.
  • Providing subject matter expertise in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of appropriate enterprise programs, policies, and procedures to be compliant with regulations governing the banking and financial services industry
  • Collaborating with security compliance leaders and technical security teams to define and implement security processes and procedures based on financial services requirements and industry-standard best practices. Defining the requirements and validating the procedures and audit testing methodology
  • Experience with Cloud operations and network security services, including firewalls, intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning, OS patching, system hardening/health checking
  • Excellent skills in risk assessment processes, policy development, proposals, work statements, product evaluations, and delivery of technology Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Experience with compliance programs such as HiTRUST, FFIEC or FedRAMP/ FISMA, HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2, or PCI
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail
