Chubb is hiring for a Program Manager, Global Business Continuity! This is a mid-level, individual contributor for Chubb’s overall readiness for, response to, and recovery from business interruptions.

Chubb’s Global Safety, Security and Business Continuity Management (GSSBCM) manages critical areas that are driven by a Duty of Care to protect our people, property, reputation, and brand. GSSBCM acts as a shared service to support Chubb Business Units and Corporate functions – as an integrator that can assist with reducing risk, and enhancing resilience, through deliberate planning, progressively challenging exercises, and transparent policies and processes.

The Program Manager, Business Continuity, is responsible for driving and executing several key projects within the Global Business Continuity program. This includes ownership of program governance, including but not limited to, ongoing development and maturity of policies and standards, standard operating procedures, key performance indicators, metrics and monitoring of compliance. This person will also be responsible for the management and program integration with for several key projects, including a partnership with Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) on the rollout of their third-party risk software as well as the rollout of the Business Continuity team’s platform. This position will report directly to the AVP, Business Continuity COG/Life Lead.

This role operates on a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote). Ideally the candidate would be in the Whitehouse Station, NJ or Philadelphia, PA offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the ongoing development, maturity and execution of all appropriate policies, standards, procedures, and methodologies according to Chubb’s global Business Continuity program requirements and strategy
  • Responsible for global governance of all appropriate policies, standards and procedures including all compliance monitoring
  • Facilitate the escalation, communication, and validation of any issues identified relating to compliance with Chubb’s global Business Continuity policies and standards
  • Maintain executive reporting on progress of the Business Continuity program’s lifecycle and enhancement projects; complete all monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements
  • Act as the global project manager for the business continuity software, including all aspects of training for users, access control, and ongoing implementation needs
    • Track and communicate project status, milestones, and gaps
    • Liaise with internal IT partners on prioritization, change requests and release schedules
    • Liaise with vendor partners on best practice, enhancement opportunities and issue resolution
    • Manage tasks and platform needs with appropriate business continuity team members to ensure regional and stakeholder ownership
    • Maintain monthly reporting and metrics on adoption status
  • Oversee business continuity processes related to third party resilience globally
    • Provide overall governance of the business continuity requirements for the global Third-Party Resilience Program and Third-Party software, including development of the program and review methodology
    • Ensure business continuity approach to Third-Party Resilience is aligned to industry best practices and standards, referring to external sources to better inform the progress of the program
    • Ensure businesses craft, maintain, and exercise (in an approved cadence) the recovery strategies for their loss-of-supplier scenario. Partner with regional business continuity leads to tailor and obtain approval for their local exercising cadence and integrate it into their Business Continuity standard
    • Produce and implement standardized processes and SOPs linked to the global Third-Party Provider Policy, as well as align approach with other risk domain leads (IT DR, Data Privacy, Information Security/Cyber Risk, Compliance/Legal, Finance)
    • Oversee emerging risks related to Third-Party/Vendor Risk Management
    • Attend and actively participate in Third-Party Risk Management Committees or equivalent and other relevant committees where required
  • Track emerging global business continuity regulations, source new best practices, identify areas for continued enhancement. Develop plans with appropriate Business Continuity leadership for achieving compliance; track compliance accordingly
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by business continuity leadership
  • Travel as required throughout the year (approximately 20%)

Qualifications

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in all phases of business continuity (planning, training, and exercising), crisis management, crisis communications, or disaster response and recovery
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) preferred
  • Experience in program management, overseeing ongoing objectives, matrix reporting structures, metrics, and related projects
  • Experience with, or a working understanding of, business continuity activities connected to supplier resilience and IT disaster recovery
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to lead compliance and execution of policies and procedures
  • Strong leadership skills and a productive team player with a proven track record
  • Strong verbal / written communications. Must be able to engage and coordinate efficiently and effectively with business partners and all levels of leadership across the global organization
  • Strong administrative skills, with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing resources to achieve target dates
  • Strong interpersonal skills and articulation skills required to communicate solutions to management
  • Skilled at working with senior management in the development of strategic, as well as, tactical plans to mature business resilience culture within the corporation
  • Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams); SharePoint; Microsoft Outlook; Web-based communications tools; and internet-based research
  • Knowledge of Fusion Risk Management is a plus
