National Security Specialist

This position serves as a national specialist and sales opportunity support resource for Intelisys Sales Partners on all cyber-security and cloud security opportunities. As the National Security Specialist, Sales Partner support includes sales support with end customers, security technology training, security education, assisting with on-boarding activities as required for new partners within their first year, working with security supplier partners to stay current on technology and offerings, and other security opportunity sales-related tasks.

This assignment is a quota bearing sales position focused both on bringing in new revenues through Sales Partners with security opportunities, as well as working in a general security sales support role under the Senior Director of Solutions Engineering to drive profitable margin growth overall.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Act as the security product portfolio SME ensuring end-user requirements align with best-fit solutions and suppliers
  • Deliver differentiated assistance in qualifying security opportunities to ensure that solutions and resources are positioned to optimize performance, profitability, and margin levels.
  • Work directly with sales partners and target customers in defining opportunities.
  • Work with vendor suppliers in understanding their value proposition
  • Continually evaluate the security portfolio and work with supplier management to add/change suppliers as needed
  • Achieve monthly revenue targets and sales quota
  • Coordinate security-related supplier sales and engineering support
  • Act as the key point of escalation at the supplier level to ensure vendor performance and issue resolution
  • Defines the value proposition of each security supplier and how they fit strategically into the Intelisys portfolio
  • Coordinate security supplier sales presentations via meetings and / or conference calls
  • Attend and manage security education sessions, both remotely as well as onsite
  • Participate in on-boarding activities with partner support as required
  • Support the Senior Director of Solutions Engineering on assigned tasks
  • Work with the marketing department to develop security strategy to enhance Intelisys’ reputation as the leading Technology Distributor for best of breed security suppliers, education and sales resources & support.
  • Provide feedback to the Senior Director of Solutions Engineering regarding gaps in the security portfolio
  • Attend company and team meetings, as well as onsite and offsite supplier trainings and events.
  • Other duties as assigned

Reporting Relationships:

  • Directly supervised by Director, Solution Engineering


  • Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Technical knowledge of cyber-security and cloud security solutions and trends
  • Proficiency in the sales cycle with the ability to sell and close opportunities
  • Experience with indirect channel sales organizations
  • Proficiency in computer usage, Internet, and Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Ability to work within a cooperative team environment as well as perform assignments autonomously
  • Excellent communication, presentation, writing and editorial abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.


  • A minimum of 5 years end-user work experience in security operations preferred
  • CISSP preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand at a computer terminal for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, combining remote and in-office attendance designated for this position.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 20% of the time
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
