Position Summary:

IT Support Coordinator is a single point of contact between end users and other IT departments in ITT. ITT has main IT support line, network teams, server teams, ERP teams, etc.

Position is in Blacksburg, VA with primary focus on supporting business processes in Blacksburg VA, where main manufacturing presence is located.

Pay: $61,000 – $92,000 annual

Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities include support on application side and infrastructure side. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Infrastructure responsibilities:

  • Identify business requirements and solve them leveraging ITT IT support spread in different US regions and different countries.
  • Evaluate criticality and priorities of requirements in area of responsibility to coordinate the task resolution among different groups.
  • Responsibility for installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and associated software to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide and manage support for highly functioning executives and associated support staff.
  • Provide end-user assistance where required.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with many different types of customers as well as IT vendors to provide effective, efficient break/fix IT support services.
  • Proactively seeks out and builds relationships with business/functional partners; actively contributes to business projects and activities.
  • Ensures that request/support completed following ITT procedures, IT security Policy and ITT’s values.
  • Ensures that business/functional partners receive information they need for continuous IT support improvement.
  • Basic wired and wireless network troubleshooting
  • Upgrade/migrate windows 7 installations to windows 10
  • Document and track work in incident management system
  • Request and coordinate vendor support for hardware and software as necessary
  • Instruct users on basic software/hardware/peripheral operation
  • Identify and escalate advanced technical issues to Central IT teams as appropriate
  • Support on telecommunications (iPhones, Samsung phones)
  • Work in coordination with central IT teams on different upgrade projects (Minor cabling upgrades, Cisco router/switches, phone systems, Windows Servers, etc).
  • Create and manage (shared folders) file systems on Windows server environment
  • Active Directory management, users, groups, service accounts, etc.
  • Purchase necessary hardware as required
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements to IT management
  • Available off hours for emergency issues/escalations as they arise
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills

Application Responsibilities:

  • Main applications to support are ERP: Plex and SAP ECC 6.0.
  • Willing to learn about ERP and business processes.
  • Willing to learn about B2B and web (ecommerce) business processes.
  • Support includes to understand business requirements and coordinate resolution with related support team.
  • Coordinate user tests and functional tests of provided solutions in ERP.
  • Ability to understand shop floor and warehouse processes to explain the requirements for IT teams in other countries.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills

  • Expertise to work with different IT teams and provide support to both sides: business users and IT teams.

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
