The IT Coordinator will capture plant business requirements and help transfer the requirements to the regional IT Business Analysts. He/she will help identify technologies that may benefit the Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Novelis has approximately 14,650 employees in 33 operating facilities on four continents and is investing close to $1.5 billion in global rolling and recycling expansions to meet the growing demand for our premium product.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day support and coordination between the Business, the various IT teams (Richmond, Novelis Regional and Global). The Coordinator is the first point of contact for all IT activities in the plant and has complete oversight of the IT environment at the plant and all related infrastructures.
  • Lead support and growth initiatives for existing plant applications in-line with IT Business Engagement Manager, plant management and functional users.
  • Coordinate between multi-discipline IT teams in support of existing infrastructure.
  • Capture business issues and will coordinate with the different areas of the NNA and Global IT organization to develop solutions.
  • Supports existing plant applications including interfaces with regional/global systems, in line with the functional users, plant management, business analysts, and the IT Manager and Business Engagement Manager.

  • Provide leadership, project management and ongoing support of existing specified business systems including troubleshooting, vendor liaison, user liaison and continuous improvement and will provide leadership, project management and ongoing support of development of new or replacement business systems, initiated both within the plant and from corporate initiatives.
  • Capture plant business requirements and help transfer the requirements to the regional IT Business Analysts. Help identify technologies that may benefit the operation and work with regional and global IT teams to ensure proper fit and alignment.
  • Facilitate the roll-out in the plant of new IT processes and standards and will facilitate the roll-out in the plant of new business applications or new infrastructure as defined by the regional or global IT teams.
  • Compiles project status reports, coordinates project schedules, manages project meetings, and identifies and coordinates efforts across local IT teams to resolve technical problems. Identifies and analyzes systems requirements and defines project scope, requirements, and deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree Information Technology or Engineering
  • 5+ experience in IT environments
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing 4.0 and leading trends preferred
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity practices and handling security incidents preferred
  • Experience with Digital Analytics, data structures and Power BI reporting
  • Knowledge of Digital Twins used in simulation of manufacturing processes
  • Excellent technical skills around business applications, software, database
  • Application development knowledge preferred
  • Proven skills surrounding infrastructure, servers, PC, local and wide area networks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to interact with business users and plant management at all levels
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task and manage indirect resources
  • Strong ability to analyze and solve problems collaborating with regional team
  • English fluency, other languages a plus

Location Profile

Established in 1959 the Richmond facility utilizes unique pellet casting technology and a compacting mill to produce aluminum rolled sheet for the building and construction industry. The site utilizes recycled material to produce AA3025 and AA3105 mill finish sheet used in the manufacturing of gutters downspouts soffit fascia siding roofing panels window trim and pipe jacketing.
