Our Calhoun location in Tennessee, United States is currently seeking talent to fill the position of IT Analyst. This job is permanent, full-time.

Position: IT Analyst

Reports To: IT Manager

Primary Role: The IT Analyst position is responsible for assisting the IT Department in efforts to optimize and improve the mill’s safety, quality, and financial performance. The position will be responsible for supporting all local departments by working with managers and users to determine their specific needs and requirements while maintaining corporate IT policies, standards, and practices. On-call duty rotation is required. The following examples are not an exhaustive list.

Hardware Experience And Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots, identifies root cause, and repairs desktops, laptops, thin clients, server hardware, and related equipment and peripherals.
  • Examples of support activities:
    • Industrial mobile computers/HMI’s including Thor VM1 and various handheld devices
    • Data Center in a Box hardware and related equipment and peripherals
    • Desktop and mobile phones; Printer, copier, fax machine, and plotters
    • Network equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, modems, access points, antennas, VoIP, UPS and PDU’s
    • Security camera systems and RFID badge scanners
  • Manages, monitors, and maintains support equipment including air conditioning units, fire suppression systems, and datacenter instrumentation (eg. Temperature, humidity, etc.).

Software Experience And Responsibilities

  • Database management and database application support experience including:
    • Microsoft SQL Server, SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, Backup and Restore;
    • Ability to write and maintain complex stored procedures and functions;
    • Relational database familiarity and conceptual design;
    • Database connectivity solutions using ODBC and ADO.
  • Application support experience including:
    • Visual Studio (VB.NET, C#, C++, ASP.NET);
    • Visual Basic for Applications (MS Office) including modules, sub routines, functions, and ActiveX controls.
  • Solid command of operating systems and OS shells including Windows Desktop, Windows Server, PowerShell, Windows CE, OpenVMS, and IBM AS/400.
  • Backup and restore policies, practices, and standards for virtual and physical solutions.
  • Preferably, the candidate has experience or familiarity with:
    • OSI PI Historian administration and end user support
    • GE Proficy Plant Applications administration and end user support
    • Majiq/Elixir end user support
    • SAP end user support

Virtualization Experience And Responsibilities

  • Preferably, the candidate has experience or familiarity with:
    • Citrix application virtualization; VMware vSphere server and VDI management.
  • Experience or familiarity with other virtualization technologies, such as Hyper-V and Alpha Server AXP.

Administrative Experience And Responsibilities

  • Proven ability to manage vendor contracts, projects, budgets, purchase requisitions, service entry sheets, accruals, IT vehicles and maintenance, environmentally hazardous e-waste disposal, and inventory (hardware, software, licensing)
