Infrastructure Architect – EndPoint

Location: Southfield, MI – REMOTE

Summary

The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for the development and ongoing technical expertise and architectural solutions in infrastructure, hardware, hosting service and network areas. This role holds significant responsibility for providing robust and scalable technology platforms to ensure the ongoing performance of Lear systems. This role will be focused on settings standard, design and implementation of end point systems including workstations, mobile devices, and associated management tools and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for complete design, systems analysis, and security.
  • Deployment & adoption of Office365 technologies.
  • Windows 10 gold build, associated GPO’s, and adoption planning.
  • Acts as expert for infrastructure teams in the plan, design, and delivery of IT solutions.
  • Advises teams of IT technology standard requirements, methodology and processes.
  • Drives short term and long-term architecture strategy for the overall IT project portfolio.
  • Participates in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.
  • Communicates and validates program architecture with infrastructure team, project management team, and other organizational teams.
  • Conducts end-to-end technical plan design.
  • Develops enterprise standards to ensure compatibility and integration of multi-vendor platforms.
  • Design and develop infrastructure blueprints for the implementation of new solutions.
  • Responsible for impact analysis and design modifications to existing systems to support new solutions.
  • Develops specifications for interfaces from existing to new systems.
  • Maintain a common documentation library of standardized procedures and configurations.
  • Provide last level of support for incidents and problems in designated areas of expertise.
  • Communicate and collaborate with local IT staff as well as colleagues in other parts of the world for configuration, troubleshooting.
  • Implement life-cycle planning for all in-scope infrastructure components.
  • Ensure regular health checks of all “major” infrastructure components are performed.
  • Perform vendor identification, engagement, selection, negotiation, and relationship management.

Qualifications

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree. A master’s degree is a plus.

Required Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in a production IT environment managing enterprise IT infrastructure, hardware, hosting service and network areas.
  • Ability to write architectural design documents or review design documents provided by others.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural needs.
  • Proven experience and understanding of architecture principles across infrastructure platforms, security, data, integration, and applications layers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the Windows concepts, Domains, Active Directory and its concepts, and the interaction between hardware, operating systems, network, data center, and application software.
  • Strong working knowledge of System Center, specifically Configuration Manager.
  • Strong working knowledge of client systems (Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10).
  • Strong working knowledge of scripting including VB & PowerShell.
  • Strong working knowledge of Office365 including services and management of services.
  • Knowledge of network topology and associated technologies.
  • Knowledge of systems monitoring, capacity planning and performance tuning.
