As Chubb’s North America Lower Middle Market (LMM) Technology Lead, you will hold a highly visible and critical executive leadership role within our team. We will look to you to develop and drive the execution of the North America Lower Middle Market business technology strategy and future state application roadmap in alignment with business goals and drivers. You will be tasked with implementing a digitally enabled business focused on automation and driving a better end-to-end experience for customers, agents and brokers. With us, you will have the opportunity to pursue emerging technologies that offer potential value to Lower Middle Market business customers and the company in general to modernize our legacy policy administration, underwriting and servicing systems. Finally, as we shift to create an engineering culture focused on industry engineering best practices that enable reliable, performant and scalable strategic solutions, we will look to you to ensure that our LMM technology team continues striving to be closely aligned and embedded with the business, collaborating across the organization to leverage Agile methodologies as they deliver high-value business capabilities.
In This Role, You Will
- Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills driving and promoting a culture of focus and collaborative execution with integrity; exhibit strong collaboration skills to ensure the goals of Lower Middle Market technology are met
- Accountable for the quality of engineering deliverables from the relevant Agile teams working on Lower Middle Market products and systems across the North America Lower Middle Market group
- Identify, promote, define and design practical and innovative business engineering solutions in line with business technology strategies managing from qualified idea, concept/business requirements through design
- Build out Chubb engineering team for Lower Middle Market inclusive of US, India and Mexico locations
- Establish and drive adoption of automated testing resulting in improved quality and speed-to-market
- Prepare and provide executive updates and recommendations on technology delivery needed to meet business OKRs
- Act as a change agent to transform the team to be deeply technical with a “digital first” mindset
- Ensure that Lower Middle Market technology maintains immediate and long-term system stability and quality through product design processes and procedures
- Challenge conventional practices and status quo with the goal of continually improving technology’s abilities to deliver practical business solutions
- Develop future leaders of technology and drive agility, strategy, innovation and collaboration
- Promote the most effective and efficient means of delivering technology products and services through reuse, sharing, buying vs. building, etc.
- Ensure compliance with corporate technology standards, guidelines and best practices regarding information technology, application security and data privacy, data integrity and architecture
- Establish and maintain a high level of business trust and confidence in the technology team’s knowledge of and concern for Lower Middle Market business issues
- Identify and collaborate to use critical technology and business unit resources required to support Lower Middle Market and enterprise technology, and business unit objectives
- Maximize Lower Middle Market return on investment in technology
- Ensure solutions are designed in the most cost-effective manner and develop and work within the Lower Middle Market technology budget
- Ensure compliance of Lower Middle Market technology maintains alignment with enterprise technology principles
Qualifications
- At least 12 years of experience leading large scale technology teams within the insurance industry, specifically related to Commercial Lines products and systems implementation required
- Demonstrated and deep experience with cloud and digital technologies, with a successful track record implementing and managing an Agile-based organization while applying DevOps
- Provide proactive and collaborative leadership to successfully align the technology function with the business as a value-added partner and enabler
- Prior experience developing and implementing strategic vision, demonstrating change agent capabilities across a complex multinational corporation
- Keen ability to focus and collaboratively execute with proven experience integrating technology, people, and processes
- Hands-on experience in complex and innovative solution design with the ability to analyze, conceptualize, and guide engineering process management
- Must demonstrate competency and flexibility in understanding diverse and complex business and technical problems, customer requirements, and functional/business objectives while developing efficient and effective solutions
- Demonstrated leadership style that communicates, instills confidence, and inspires and motivates others to contribute to and support the vision, diversity initiatives, and strategies of Lower Middle Market engineering, enterprise technology, and the entire corporation
- Superior organizational development skills and adept at effectively balancing the internal workforce with outside consultants and services to provide the appropriate speed-of-service and quality-of-output
- Ability to stimulate creativity and lead change and transformational business initiatives. Included is the ability to navigate in an ambiguous, rapidly changing environment
- Excellent communicator, highly effective in stakeholder engagement. This will include strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or another related field preferred

In Jersey City, NJ the pay range for the role is $146,500 to $240,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. This range is specific to Jersey City, NJ and may not be applicable to other locations.
