As the Engineer, Industrial IoT Network you will be integral to WESCO’s focus on becoming a world leader in the IoT market across all strategic business units. You will create test plans for lab personnel, deliver proof-of-concepts, help to integrate third party cloud applications, coordinate UI efforts with our platform team and assist in customer API integrations. You will regularly publish papers on our IoT reference architecture and work with marketing to deliver content to our customer base. You will work with our IoT sales, platform development team and consulting overlay organization to build end-to-end IoT solutions. Come join our growing team!

  • Performs hands-on network, cyber security, wireless assessment, and design and implementation of simple and complex process automation and discrete controls networks for a variety of automated manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Performs configuration of small to medium sized virtualization solutions, including server and thin client.
  • Articulates impact to and requirements for manufacturing network as it relates to PLC, HMI/SCADA, plant historian, motor control, motion control, etc. technology and applications.
  • Liaison between customers’ information technology department and manufacturing/operations technology departments.
  • Writes detailed documentation, including user needs, system specifications, observed issues with remediation recommendations or implementation requirements to develop or modify network and control system infrastructure.
  • Provides technical sales support specific to industrial network services and solutions.
  • Presents technical findings and provides technical education specific to industrial network services and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree required, Engineering preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in industrial automation.
  • Desire to learn new things.
  • Hands on networking skills, or certifications such as CCENT or CCNA routing and switching.
  • PLC programming experience.
  • Experience with cloud integrations and API development is a plus.
  • Experience in MQTT, Linux, JSON, Python, and open-source application solutions.
  • Power point and presentation skills.
  • Strong technical writing capabilities.
