About The Role

Job Description

The Director of Security Architecture is a senior leader in the ServiceNow Security Office responsible for ensuring secure design of the systems that run ServiceNow. The role will manage and expand a team of senior security architects. A successful candidate will build close relationships both inside and outside the security team to advocate and drive forward the mission of securing ServiceNow against the adversary.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and expand the current Security Architecture team in support of the mission to bake secure design into the fabric of ServiceNow’s systems.
  • Implement processes to evaluate and measure the effectiveness of the Security Architecture team.
  • Work with the business teams to balance business requirements against security risk, all while enabling the business to execute the mission.
  • Partner with key stakeholders in IT and production teams to refine architecture review processes and standards.
  • Drive security culture into the enterprise.
  • Through the Security Architecture team, design, specify and evaluate security tools to satisfy the requirements driven in partnership with the Security Operations team.
  • Develop and maintain the strategic prioritized roadmap for security controls in partnership with leadership team based on residual security risk, industry trends, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in security and/or compliance, including experience in security architecture.
  • Strong people leadership with a focus on developing talent and a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Expertise in at least three of the following domains: security architecture; vulnerability management; cloud security and governance; network securitysecurity event management; security testing and assessments.
  • Developed ability to analyze and assess complex problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Growth mindset approach with a thirst to expand knowledge of current technology and security trends.
  • Background working with compliance and regulation frameworks such as US FedRAMP, US DoD, NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, SOX, SOC 2, and GDPR strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage individual team members and effectively represent team to leadership.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, driven, fast-paced environment.

Flexible

A flexible work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office and will work from their assigned workplace location roughly 3 days/week or less (generally around 40-60% of the work week). Flexible employees may choose to work the remaining working time from their workplace location or home. Flexible employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.

Remote

A remote work persona is defined as an employee who performs their responsibilities exclusively outside of a ServiceNow workplace and is not contracted or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office, including those whose place of work (pursuant to their terms and conditions of employment) is their home. Remote employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
