Overview

Cracker Barrel is seeking a Director of Infrastructure to join the Home Office to lead and manage the development, implementation and maintenance of a complex and varied technology infrastructure needed to support Cracker Barrel’s business effectively and efficiently. This Director will provide leadership and direction to managers and teams under direct span of control and partner with other IS management to achieve departmental and corporate initiatives. Purview of this department includes the following: mid-range and desktop environments, LAN and WAN communications and operations, IS procurement, computer operations, capacity planning and management, business continuity and disaster recovery planning and information security.

Responsibility

  • Lead, mentor, and develop technology professionals to deliver innovative, reliable, and stable enterprise infrastructure.
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic direction for Infrastructure including data center, cloud, and networking.
  • Protect and secure our infrastructure environment evangelizing and implementing industry best practices in partnership with our Security leader.
  • Champion automation to drive team productivity and platform reliability.
  • Develop capacity planning for compute, storage, and networking in both our data center and cloud environments.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for critical enterprise infrastructure.
  • Build strong vendor relationships to deliver strategic business value, reliable platforms, and desirable financial results.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working across numerous IT infrastructure technologies and platforms, including internally hosted, externally hosted, and SaaS models.
  • Solid experience and capabilities in the areas of infrastructure architecture, design, and technology management in the following areas: Data Center, Network, Storage, Server, Database, Middleware, Desktop, Collaboration, and AV.
  • Results orientated with the ability to build and lead a business focused, time sensitive, innovative, and cost-effective technology organization. Proven experience building and driving strategic technology plans that meet the corporation’s business objectives.
  • Strong experience as a practitioner and manager in the areas of IT project, program, and financial management. Experienced in driving projects and project managers in conjunction with IT PMO guidelines and industry standards (PMI).
  • Proven ability developing core technology metrics that are aligned with business goals, measuring against these metrics, and continually evaluating for relevance.
  • Experience managing in an outsourced relationship model. Multi-vendor environment experience – negotiating, selecting vendor services, RFI/RFP, contract management.
  • Expertise with issue/trend analysis, proactive problem avoidance, root cause analysis, performance and overall quality improvement and cost-savings.
  • Must possess very strong business acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and establish strong partnerships across the organization.
  • Strong ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Fundamental experience with ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Strong experience in vendor management to ensure quality delivery of all contracted services
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery principles, technology, and practices.
  • Understanding of common information security compliance requirements, such as PCI and HIPPA.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science and/or work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in technology and leading technology teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in leading technology teams in multi-unit retail organizations.
