Deputy General Counsel

ServiceMaster is looking for a dynamic and experienced attorney and leader to provide strategic support and guidance for ServiceMaster Brands’ sales and marketing teams across its 6 brands in the US and Canada. This role is based in ServiceMaster Brands’ corporate headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, and will report directly to the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive business partnership and strategic legal support for business teams in the US and Canada to help unlock growth initiatives, including sales and marketing support.
  • Lead transformation of all contracting legal support, including optimization of processes and development of contract templates and playbooks.
  • Provide strategic support to our global procurement team and embed key vendor relationships
  • Drive all brand protection strategies in partnership with our global marketing teams, including strategic marketing claims review, trademark enforcement, and global portfolio management.
  • Lead all global data privacy protection in partnership with our IT security teams.
  • Serve as a key member of the Global Legal team, both as a keen legal advisor and business partner.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • J.D. and undergraduate degrees
  • Admission to and good standing in any state bar or the District of Columbia.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of legal experience, preferably with corporate in-house experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability across multiple, cross-disciplinary teams.

  • Ability to direct and manage activities of, and relationships with outside counsel.
  • Ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior management.
  • Ability to lead large-scale transformation work across a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and efficiently.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%
