Position Overview:
The Chubb Data Marketplace team is hiring a Senior Product Owner to join our team. This role is responsible for leading, building, and maintaining the growth of data marketplace products and capabilities and will work directly with a team of highly skilled engineers to realize our vision. The Data Marketplace team builds features and functionalities that allow users to discover data across the enterprise, share data and democratize data. The Senior Product Owner will define user stories, prioritize the team backlog, contribute a solid understanding of end users and their needs, and identify future capabilities for the product. The position demands frequent interactions with end users at all levels of the organization, including business, analyst, data science, and technology teams. This role requires a solid understanding of technical capabilities in the data space, which means we are looking for candidates with a blend of technical experience and a customer-focused, product mindset.
Primary Responsibilities
- Core focus would be Leading Development, enhancement, and maintenance of Data Marketplace
- Develop Product backlog [Functional and non-functional requirements] & Roadmap by gathering requirements from various Insurance verticals / stake holders.
- Prioritization of product backlog and converting them into User stories for product development
- Analysis, elaboration and grooming of user story and make it ready for development with the acceptance criteria clearly documented.
- Working very closely with the Development / Scrum teams to clarify any questions. Supporting in developing User Mocks-ups, design and development, testing during the Agile Development process
- Establish Data Contract with the Consumers and Producers of Data based on the agreement & requirements of functionality, data lineage, data quality, source of data and ownership.
- Performing and driving the User acceptance testing to ensure the product is developed as per the specifications and is ready to be deployed to production.
- Ensuring all the Agile ceremonies [Sprint planning, Scrum meeting, Scrum of Scrums, estimations, retrospective sprints, sprint velocity, reporting etc.] are conducted as part of the agile process.
- Create, revise, and enforce data management / Data governance policies for Usage / Security of Data Marketplace
- Develop and Execute Adoption and Marketing strategy for Data Marketplace working with end users at all levels of the organization including tech and business.
- Develop techniques to measure the usage of Data marketplace and increase adoption. Implement procedures related to the secure and efficient handling and sharing of data.
- Develop Techniques to develop Charge back model to the lines of business for financial alignment.
Qualifications
- 10+ Years of Experience in Data Management, Data Platform modernization related Projects with Strong Agile Delivery experience
- 3+ years of experience in product management for an engineering team building and launching highly technical solutions.
- Prior experience as a software engineer, data engineer, or database administrator is a plus.
- Experience defining and building customer-centric, self-service workflows is a plus.
- Should have led Product Development in Agile delivery model with core focus in Data platform modernization.
- Understanding of Data Marketplace or Data Exchange type of solution offerings and its workings
- Knowledge and hands on experience in technology used in Data Marketplace primarily SQL, Snowflake, Azure Synapse and Informatica Data Management
- Knowledge and Hands-on Experience with Azure Cloud Ecosystem will be a must
- Master’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with highly technical teams working on cloud data engineering or within the domain of data or analytics platforms to create, build, and launch successful data products.
- Experience working on cross-functional, high-performing teams.
- Proven ability to be self-directed and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Proven record of creating business value and improving the user experience through product delivery.
- Creative thinker with an open mind to learn and explore new areas and to develop and recommend opportunities and solutions.
- Demonstrated effective leadership by earning trust, respect, and fostering the development of self-organizing teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; ability to give clear and consistent instructions to team members required.
- Ability to communicate ideas, alternatives, and solutions with distributed teams.
- Passionate about solving data management problems.
