Serco will provide technical support to its customer, a defense acquisition program management office which is responsible for the development, acquisition, production, fielding, and lifetime support of critical Navy systems. This mid-level cyber systems engineering position has aspects of hardware and software requirements generation, project status updates, architecture design analysis, system security threat assessment and mitigation, and evaluation of new technologies, policy and doctrine.

In this role you will:

  • Provide direct support to the Lead System Engineer programs in support of PEO IWS 2.0 Above Water Sensors and Lasers Directorate.
  • Provide proactive cyber systems engineering assistance with hardware and software requirements generation for radar systems/subsystems.
  • Serve on the Program Protection Working Group and provide support as the Lead Cybersecurity/RMF Analyst responsible for the Authorization and Assessment process under the RMF for new and existing Navy radar information systems.
  • Conduct analysis in support of architecture design for the U.S. Navy and support compliance.
  • Assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Supporting cyber policy implementation and RMF artifact development including requirements updates
  • Performing verification and validation of delivered systems; developing test plans and procedures
  • Assessing Assured Compliance Assessment Solution scans
  • Communicating risks and issues to the PEO IWS 2.0 designated Fully Qualified Navy Validator and Functional Authorizing Official.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering/Cyber Security related discipline with 3+ years of experience providing information assurance, engineering, or operational support to the DoD, including supporting information operations, cyber operations, system administration, and systems security
  • Active Secret security clearance required and the ability to maintain one.
  • 1+ year of experience evaluating the cyber compliance of a system against current Risk Managed Framework (RMF) and DoD Cybersecurity policies
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, provide high quality services and products, while meeting strict deadlines and time constraints.
  • Ability to operate in a highly dynamic environment with a wide variety of programmatic/technical challenges.
  • Well-developed team communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated forward thinking and proactive problem-solving skills.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • A Master’s of Science degree in an Engineering/Cyber Security related discipline. The work experience requirement may be adjusted based on the incumbent having an advanced degree. Also, the degree requirement(s) may be adjusted based on additional related experience, highly specialized knowledge, or uniquely applicable experience.
  • Experience working in an acquisition program office environment with documentation, protocols, formats, and deadlines
  • Systems engineering background and experience with hardware/software integration
  • A DoD 8570 Information Assurance Management (IAM) III or IAT III Certification, i.e., CompTIA CASP+ or ISACA CISM.
  • Fully Qualified Navy Validator (FQNV)
  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and take on responsibility.
  • Experience in collaboration tools such as SharePoint is desired.
  • Previous government program office experience desired.
