As an Application Security Manager at CH Robinson, you will have the opportunity to lead a global team of technical application Security engineers who design, implement, manage, evaluate, and monitor systems and procedures to protect CH Robinson’s applications, software, data, and global network from unauthorized activities. You will leverage your previous experience and industry best practices to build, develop, and shape this high performing global team and program. As part of that effort, you will be responsible for establishing key performance indicators (KPI’s) of the program, leading the effort of identifying and prioritizing internal and external risks which are relevant to CH Robinson, recommending risk mitigations, responding to reported Security findings, alerts, violations, and implement policies, guidelines, and validations for our SDLC and CI/CD pipelines. Our customers rely on us to solve their most complex supply chain issues and this team has a significant responsibility to ensure we uphold their trust through protecting our systems, data, and network from threats.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and define objectives of our Application Security team and program; communicate execution strategies and progress to senior leadership
  • Implement and manage changes to procedures and systems to enhance application, software, data, network, and systems Security
  • Lead, coordinate, participate in, and manage information Security projects and serve as an escalation point for the team while performing other duties as assigned
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Application Development, and DevOps teams
  • Evaluate spend and make decisions and recommendations that balance timely project delivery and cost effectiveness
  • Make talent decisions using evaluations on team health and performance to accomplish objectives to acquire, develop, and retain talent needed for high performing teams
  • Promote and manage application security awareness throughout the Application Development organization; management of security champions program
  • Produce metrics reporting the state of application security programs and performance of development teams against requirements, improving and maintaining secure development standards
  • Support the incident response and architecture review processes whenever application security expertise is needed
  • Integrate threat modeling practices into the product lifecycle

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years Security experience, with a total of 8 or more years of information technology experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing a technical application Security team within the Fortune 1000; establishing processes and leveraging metrics to measure and manage progress and performance
  • 3+ years of experience working with a variety application Security tools
  • Working knowledge of OWASP, Cloud Security Alliance, etc.
  • Experience successfully implementing Security technologies and products
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and high school diploma/GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience securing hybrid and cloud-based workloads
  • Experience with zero trust methods and technologies
  • Experience with feature and product threat modeling
  • Experience with identity management technologies (OIDC, Oauth 2.0, SAML)
  • Experience with secret management technologies
  • Experience leading Security investigations at all stages of the cyber kill chain
  • Previous experience with vendor management and coordinating vendor activities
