Job Summary

Detect, prevent & respond to information threats. Perform daily operational monitoring and investigation of information security events for context, appropriateness, and criticality. Maintain information security technologies and processes. Enforce and evaluate security controls that protect customers, brand and sensitive data. Such activities may include the following as well as other duties as assigned:

Principal Responsibilities

Collects and analyzes log data and forensic artifacts to determine security risks or compromised systems
Conducts security risk assessments and compliance audits and makes recommendations regarding levels of risk by identifying potential information and network security vulnerabilities
Develops, maintains and publishes policies and standards related to information systems in order to mitigate risk and influence user behaviors
Assists with security design plans which emphasize defense in depth principals and promote monitoring and detection of threats
Enforces/monitors security standards, procedures, techniques and guidelines
Provides technical guidance/consultation related to information security issues
Participates in security incident investigations and post-incident review meetings
Assist with product evaluations on select security products and services
Implements upgrades, repairs, and modifications to information systems assets supporting the security function
Maintains awareness of new and emerging threats
Manages the provisioning, deprovisioning and access levels of accounts for system assets
Perform Threat Hunting with appropriate guidance on new and emerging adversaries
Job Level Specifications

Foundational knowledge of technical principles, concepts and standards acquired via academic instruction and/or relevant work experience of substantially the same level
Vulnerability scanning tools and reporting (Nessus, QVM, Trustwave, Metasploit)
Foundational knowledge of incident response and management
Data analysis and analytical problem solving
Knowledge of principles, practices, theories, trends, and methodologies for emerging threats and malicious actors
Continuous process and technology improvement mindset
Documenting security operations standards and procedures
Knowledge or experience with scripting tools (Powershell, Python) and use of Regex for incident investigation, signature development, and data analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication
Work Experience

Typically requires less than one year of related experience.
Education And Certification(s)

High School Diploma or equivalent

Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s
