Shiva Temple Aarti Maha Kumbh 2025 Bengaluru Techie Suicide Kolkata Water System Nikita Singhania Govt cautions versus taking in jatropha [email protected]/ Dec 4, 2024, 23:53 IST Share AA + Text Size Small Medium Large Follow us Bengaluru: After a group of 5 ladies and eight children were hospitalised from eating Jatropha curcas seeds in Chamarajanagar district recently, the food safety commissionerate has cautioned about the possibility of public health being impacted due to consumption of harmful fruits.Commissioner of food security, Srinivas K, said while all parts of jatropha curcas plants are dangerous, the seeds contain a high concentration of ricin and are more toxic.”The unfavorable impacts after taking in the seeds are throwing up, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort and a burning experience in the throat.
Vomiting and diarrhoea happen within fifteen minutes of consumption. Also, considering that the seeds have a pleasant taste, there is a possibility of a greater influence on the health of kids, “Srinivas cautioned about the evergreen tropical plant with thin stems.Thirteen members of Banjara (nomadic) neighborhood who were hospitalised at Kollegal taluk medical facility in Chamarajanagar were released in a day. One child with intellectual impairments was kept in observation before being discharged, district health officer, Chamarajanagar, Chidambara S informed TOI.He stated

members of the neighborhood remained in Kollegal for sugarcane-cutting work.
