Ashland LLC, a $3.4BN global specialty chemical company has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cyber Security Analyst  to join our global IT team in the Cincinnati area or Dublin OH site. The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will monitor, correlate and analyze security event data and provide hands-on security administration for a range of security duties. This position will focus on various Information Security, Privacy and Human Resources investigations including the creation of comprehensive investigative reports. This role will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, assembling, and distributing metrics related to reporting of investigation activities. It is a visible role within Ashland requires coordination and teamwork  with other investigative departments.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Monitor incoming event queues for potential security incidents; identify and act on anomalous network activity
  • Monitor external event sources for security intelligence and actionable incidents
  • Document investigation results and writes technical articles for knowledge sharing
  • Participate in root cause analysis or lessons learned sessions
  • Perform threat hunting for malicious network activity using an analytic platform
  • Perform initial investigation and triage for potential security incidents
  • Deliver accurate & prioritized analysis on cyber activity/threats
  • Perform payload analysis of packets
  • Detonate malware to assist with threat research
  • Resolve or coordinate the resolution (raise) of cyber security events
  • Prepare detailed reports related to investigations and intelligence analysis.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Four years or more of experience in the security field highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience with multiple areas of IT highly desirable
  • Experience working with information security practices, networks, software, and hardware.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Able to work with highly confidential information.
  • Ability to speak clearly, give direction, and provide guidance to employees and security staff during emergencies.
  • Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of leadership.
