Position Summary

Identifying, recommending, developing, implementing, and supporting resilient, cost-effective technology solutions. Responsibilities include gathering system requirements, developing solution architectures, and technical leadership through implementation and transition to service support.

The Infrastructure Architect will work closely with the Teleflex IT professionals in the applications and infrastructure teams, company decision-makers, and vendors to provide information technology solutions to benefit our customers.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Architect information technology solutions for business projects and/or initiatives
  • Participate in information technology system implementations from system requirements gathering through implementation and service support transition
  • Interface with business representatives, vendors, and other stakeholders for gathering system requirements
  • Document newly architected or existing systems according to quality, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Identify and address technical or operational risks and inefficiencies with IT systems
  • Develop and maintain documentation for operational best practices and systems maintenance
  • Collaborate with project managers in the development of detailed project plans
  • Develop and execute a support transition plan for system implementations
  • Aid with issues escalated from downstream support teams

Education / Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 7 years in Information Technology.

  • Expert knowledge in the following platforms:

Required

  • Microsoft Server
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • VMware ESX
  • Microsoft Azure

Preferred

  • Nutanix
  • Red Hat Linux
  • Technical areas of expertise should include and not be limited to the following:
  • Cloud and on-premises data center technologies and architectures
  • Server virtualization
  • Scripting and system automation
  • Backup technologies such as Avamar and Data Domain
  • Enterprise system monitoring
  • LAN/WAN networks
  • Certifications in at least one technology preferred
  • Microsoft Server
  • Microsoft Azure
  • VMware
  • Security (CISSP)

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

  • Maintains working understanding of technology across many disciplines
  • Working knowledge of SOX and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 requirements
  • Firm understanding of IT best practices and frameworks such as ITIL
  • Ability to solve complex problems with limited supervision
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees and vendors at all levels of the business
  • Ability to lead a technical team in the development of systems requirements, design, and delivery
  • Understands future technology trends and can identify how they relate to business needs
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office technologies including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and Power BI
  • Experience using tools for change management
  • Experience producing technical documentation including functional requirements, design specifications, work instructions, and installation qualifications
  • Ability to coordinate technical resources across multiple locations to accomplish goals
  • Ability to educate and train support teams or junior members of the team
  • Ability to learn new technologies and existing legacy infrastructure
