Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Review vendor/DISH documents such as Product Requirement Document (PRD), Network Design Requirements (NDR), Lab Engineering Plan (LEP) workbook and product documents provided by security vendors (such as – Palo Alto Networks, Allot, Dell, Nokia, and others)
  • Review security requirements that are developed for each product/node, with key DISH stakeholders that include key product owners and operation POC’s.
  • Work with vendors in consolidating and documenting all security tests performed either by vendors in their own labs and/or DISH provided Lab instances
  • Establish concrete DISH security related tests with reference to PRD for individual products, NDR for each network elements such as AMF/UPF, PCRF, IMS, CU/DU/RU, Proxy, DNS, Load balancer, Firewall, Routers etc. Please note 5G Lab security testing includes Network and Node related security areas. The Network security testing includes security capabilities, such as – traffic flow separation, perimeter protection, penetration testing, network slice security, DNS security, URL filtering, malware and botnets, DDoS prevention, FW, IPS, secure protocols, and cyber security. The Node security testing includes security capabilities, such as node hardening, and audit and event logs, and others.
  • Create Test cases per finalized TOL’s – 1) Pre-requisites/pre-conditions, 2) test steps/execution, 3) expected behavior
  • Provide oversight on the testing efforts, update JIRA, and monitor progress towards the resolution of issues/defects identified in functional testing efforts

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Engineering or Technical education or an equivalent combination of highly related experiences and education
  • 6+ years of experience in the wireless industry, preferred in testing 4G/5G solutions
  • Extensive experiences to operate security testing tools, such as Netsparker, Wireshark for penetration testing, Palo Alto Networks for application level security, and others
  • Familiarity with SDN/NFV/Cloud and VNF MANO concepts
  • Good understanding and experience in 4G RAN/5G O-RAN, 5G ORAN stack split functions (7-2x, RU, DI, CUCP, CUUP); Deep understanding of any components
  • Good understanding and experiences in ORAN software architecture in the virtualized environment preferred. 3GPP ORAN understanding is minimum requirement
  • Good understanding and experience in 4G EPC/5GC core, CUPS, virtualized Network Functions; Deep understanding of any components
  • Demonstrated experience with excellent problem-solving skills, to perform Root Cause Analysis to determine the main source of product issues and provide quick, elegant resolution
  • Experience with the Product & Requirements specifications, understanding of HLD, Test plan creation and execution. Reviews (RS, design, test plan)
  • Extensive understanding of software systems/services running in the virtualized environments (Kubernetes, AWS) and ORAN functions
  • Understanding and experiences with virtualized networks, orchestration, and automation across a comprehensive network architecture, deployed in the public/private cloud

Salary Range

Compensation: $87,500.00/Year – $143,750.00/Year
