Senior Cloud Engineer

The Senior Cloud Engineer is part of the team responsible for the design, maintenance and upkeep of enterprise cloud architecture, cloud operations and their integration and use within the enterprise at large. This position will be highly involved with projects by providing technical expertise and strategy (both tactical and strategic) around application migration, platform as a service adoption, hybrid operations between Lithia on-prem data centers and our cloud tenant(s), resilient and flexible global cloud architecture and execution, layered security approaches, intelligent monitoring and reporting, cost management, automation, CI/CD pipeline/Agile/DevOps methodologies, PCI and SOX compliant controls and primary responsibility for cloud infrastructure deployment within the environment. Additionally, deep data center experience and ability provide backup support for Lithia’s on-premise presence (VMWare, Windows Servers, Active Directory and Office 365) is expected. A focus on providing value in these areas with an absolute commitment to secure operations is mandatory.

The Senior Cloud Engineer reports to the IT Systems Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise grade cloud infrastructure architecting and deep understanding of infrastructure management principles
  • Primary responsibility for architecting, deploying and supporting solutions on the Azure platform
  • Azure Cloud Services and App Services
  • Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Data Warehouse and SQL
  • Azure storage and IaaS
  • Azure Active Directory
  • Infrastructure as Code
  • Supporting features and functionality on the Azure platform as a whole
  • Development, implementation and monitoring of security postures that adhere to Lithia corporate policy and standards
  • Support and technical guidance of the DevOps activities of our Development teams
  • Secondary support of Lithia hosted datacenter infrastructure, operations and applications
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years in a senior engineering role for an enterprise sized organization
  • 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience actively architecting, deploying and managing Azure based solutions
