Position Overview

Leads effort to monitor, evaluate, and maintain the security and integrity of the global systems, to safeguard data systems. Identifies potential threats and responds to reported security violations, analyzes causes of security violations and recommends corrective action to ensure data security. Serves as a technical lead on the team and mentors other technical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Leads multiple larger and more complex projects and/or technology initiatives and applies innovative solutions to the administration of the Network Security team.
  • Lead the engineers to design, implement, and maintain firewall policies.
  • Technically mentors associates within the department. Provides training and guidance to team members as required.
  • Assists with developing and establishing strategic and long-range goals and direction for the information Security area of IT Operations.
  • Plans, acquires and manages the installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the RGA network.
  • Evaluates new strategic software and hardware solutions for future potential and provide recommendations to department management.
  • Ensures user community understands and adheres to necessary procedures to maintain security.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Preferred: Master’s degree and/or LOMA certification

Required Experience

  • 8+ years IT or related experience
  • Advanced knowledge of firewalls, security designs, and maintenance/expansion of secure network environment
  • Advanced project management skills. Demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives and scope feasibility, and manage budget plan
  • Knowledge of complex routed internal networks
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
  • Advanced investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Advanced ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously; Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects
  • Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives
  • Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
  • Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or teams and set applicable goals

  • Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines
