Job Summary

BHE GT&S has an exciting Cyber Security Analyst or Senior Cyber Security Analyst position available at BHE GT&S. This position can be located at either Bridgeport, WV or Delmont, PA, dependent on successful candidate’s location.

BHE GT&S is an interstate natural gas transmission and storage company headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, that became a standalone subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy in November 2020. We operate more than 5,560 miles of gas transmission line and 756 Bcf of underground storage in the eastern U.S., along with gathering, processing and field services businesses. We operate in 12 states. BHE GT&S is an industry leader in liquefied natural gas solutions, through initiatives such as Pivotal LNG and our 25% operating stake in the Cove Point LNG facility in Lusby, Maryland. The energy we deliver supports major distribution utilities, power plants and manufacturing. Our premier storage operations provide dependable, flexible support for direct customers and neighboring pipelines. At our multiple interconnects – especially the liquid South Point hub – BHE GT&S services support both producers and consumers, ensuring competitive access to abundant energy.

  • Under broad supervision, this intermediate level is responsible for executing security controls, defenses and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company email, data, e-commerce and web-based systems.
  • Researches attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security and designs countermeasures.
  • Under general supervision, evaluates, applies, and maintains hardware, software and network firewalls and encryption protocols.
  • Administers security policies to control physical and virtual access to systems.
  • Evaluates, collects and provides information to management regarding the negative impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information and systems.
  • Provides support and services on the organization’s network systems, applications, and solutions to user requirements and needs.
  • Responsible for development and execution of security controls, defenses and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company email, data, ecommerce and web-based systems.
  • May work with senior level staff to help identify or mitigate attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security and designs countermeasures, improve processes and security posture.
  • As a member of the Cyber Risk Security team, helps support the assessment of cyber security risk, policies, and efforts to foster cyber security awareness throughout the organization.
  • May serve as a participant in the cyber security incident response program; records, documents and reports cyber security incidents, with a focus on situational awareness and metrics.
  • Receives guidance and general direction from senior level staff and/or management as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and education required for entry into this job include the following:

Cyber Security Analyst

Must possess at minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in cyber security, or a cyber risk related role demonstrating a general knowledge in the identification, gathering and analysis of information, threats, etc. to investigate and mitigate security risks.

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of cyber security best practices and frameworks.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of industrial cyber security standards, frameworks and risk assess modeling.
  • Demonstrated good organization and planning skills, to include time and project management skills.
  • Demonstrates good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills, and has a questioning attitude.
  • Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills, with the proven ability to present information to others.
  • Ability to conduct research and apply, and under broad supervision, maintain hardware, software and network firewalls and encryption.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a teamed environment. Highly motivated, with the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision in a fastpaced environment.
  • Previous work experience in security aspects of multiple platforms, operating systems, software, communications, and network protocols is desired.

Cyber Security Analyst Senior

Must possess at minimum of 5-7 years of work experience in cyber security, or a cyber risk related role demonstrating a working knowledge in the identification, gathering and analysis of information, threats, etc. to investigate and mitigate security risks.

  • Considerable knowledge of cyber security best practices and frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of industrial cyber security standards, frameworks and risk assess modeling.
  • Demonstrated organization and planning skills, including time management, project coordination, and project management.
  • Demonstrates excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills, with a questioning attitude.
  • Demonstrated competency in verbal and written communication, with good presentation skills.
  • An in-depth experience in security aspects of multiple platforms, operating systems, software, communications, and network protocols is strongly desired.
  • Highly motivated, with the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and problem solving skills, to include time management, project coordination, and project management.
  • Previous work experience with industry cyber security standards, frameworks, and risk assessment models, SIEM technologies, packet analysis & security analytics.
  • Must be team-oriented, placing priority on quality and the successful completion of team goals
  • Demonstrated competency in developing effective solutions to business problems, with the ability to understand customer’s business needs, analyze problems and make decisions.
  • Demonstrated leadership of work teams or groups, with the ability to work with all levels of employees. Ability to handle multiple deadlines and associated pressures, is a self-starter, and to work independently
