The Role

Code42 is looking for a Front-end Software Engineer to join our growing team, leading our browser extension based features, which are a critical part of our insider risk security applications. As part of the team, you will be working alongside experienced engineers, learning about and contributing to the future of Code42’s browser extension and front-end applications. We are seeking an engineer who is willing to learn, ask questions, jump in, and contribute to our projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working as a member of a scrum team that will iterate on insider risk security applications that impact the success of Code42.
  • Contributing to our new browser extension, deployed across multiple browser types.
  • Continuously learning about technology and software development, and sharing knowledge with the team.
  • Creating unit and integration tests to ensure code is high quality and maintainable.
  • Continuously learning to improve through pair programming and pull request reviews.
  • Participating in team design discussions and code reviews, documenting code, asking questions, contributing and accepting feedback.
  • Participating in agile story authorizing, sizing, and demo sessions for product features.

What You Bring

  • Software development experience or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3+ years experience working with TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar languages.
  • 3+ years of experience in JavaScript web applications, using libraries such as React.
  • Familiarity with working in an agile, collaborative environment.
  • A passion for writing high-quality code.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment concepts.
  • Ability to report to either our Minneapolis or Denver office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for Collaboration at the Office Days (CATO Days)

Additional Skills That Can Set You Apart

  • Experience with the tools that comprise our tech stack
    • Experience writing browser extensions for both Chromium (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, etc.) and WebKit (Safari, etc.) based browsers is a big plus.
    • Software/Tools: Webpack, Jest, Cypress, Docker, Git

We offer a competitive salary that includes base + company bonus + equity. Final salary will be based upon experience and geographic location. Salary range: $100,000-$140,000
