The Corporate Security Team

Business Technology is on a mission to accelerate Okta’s scale and growth. We bring world-class business acumen and technology expertise to every interaction. We also drive cross-functional collaboration and are focused on delivering measurable business outcomes.

Corporate Security Engineers are responsible for securing Okta’s employees and company internal infrastructure through solution engineering, testing, security reviews, and partnership with stakeholder teams to build automated solutions to complex problems.

The Senior Corporate Engineer Opportunity

This position is not one where someone will simply manage security tooling or click buttons. The ideal candidate will have skills within IT, security, and development to build, secure, test, and operationalize various disparate systems. Preferred experience with commonly implemented IT security tools such as Okta, EDRs (Endpoint Detection and Response), CASBs (Cloud Access Security Broker), DLP (Data Loss Prevention), and UEMs (Unified Endpoint Management) along with some experience penetration testing, phishing, and/or threat modeling. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record automating solutions utilizing a cloud first approach and be comfortable communicating with support staff, technical leadership, and management to achieve success in this role.

The most important quality is an innate desire to make tools and people work together solving complex problems with expertise and creativity in your daily flow.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own relationships within internal teams as a security SME for architecture and threat mitigations
• Work with internal stakeholders and vendors to evaluate new systems before they are developed and deployed
• Develop, implement, and communicate vulnerability mitigation strategies to internal teams
• Work solo or collaboratively while delivering simultaneous projects on a deadline
• Build disposable, repeatable, and verifiable automation and infrastructure for security integrations
• Set priorities for incoming requests and clearly communicating impact of findings

What You’ll Bring To The Role

• 5+ years experience securing web applications and infrastructure
• 3+ years experience working in AWS or other cloud environments
• 3+ years experience with a modern scripting language (Python preferred)
• Experience providing security architecture guidance and mitigations to teams
• Experience hardening and troubleshooting Linux, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android
• Experience performing security evaluations of 3rd party solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!

• Experience leading projects
• Experience with managing and securing SaaS applications
• Experience working with REST APIs
• Experience working with identity management technologies (MFA, SAML, WebAuthn)
• Experience working with Okta

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:

$140,000—$189,000 USD

The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:

$156,000—$211,000 USD
