We are seeking an#Information Security Specialist#at#Aspirus Health on our Identity Management team.#The Information Security Specialist is primarily responsible for performing day-to-day information security activities such as provisioning user records and the confidentiality of information and systems involving Medical Records. Knowledge of Epic security provisioning highly preferred. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides support and maintenance on applications related to the processes performed by the security team. Works collaboratively with department staff to assure appropriate security architecture and application software design, configuration, and implementation. This includes the analysis of operational issues that arise during the implementation of new processes and applications. Assists with incident response and mitigation efforts as necessary. Actively uses Information Technology#s issue management system (ServiceNow) to prioritize, coordinate, document, and report on security changes. Responds to inquiries regarding system security, policies, and procedures. Routinely reviews existing reports to identify and manage security issues. Maintains up-to-date documentation and records as required by security and privacy policies and procedures. Helps evaluate security features of information products and systems. Helps develop and publish IT security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines based on knowledge of best practices and compliance requirements. Maintains strong understanding of end user roles and department functions to ensure that the appropriate (manual or automated) access is given to end users based on their department and job functions. Maintains an understanding of the security functionality in the primary or sensitive systems used by Aspirus. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Education Knowledge of information system protocols and standards normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor#s degree with a minimum of 1 year relevant experience, or an Associate Degree in Computer Science with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience or equivalent experience. Experience Previous experience with networking infrastructure and Microsoft Active Directory are highly preferred. Previous experience in the healthcare industry is desired. Strong understanding of HIPPA privacy and security regulations along with the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills with the ability to conduct oneself in a highly professional manner are considered essential. Possesses a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail to all performed tasks.
